Hi all,
So I had my A/S yesterday and we are having another little boy! I am extremely excited. Sure, there is also a small part of me that is sad that I may never have a daughter (I think two is enough for us), but I have been keeping that to myself. I am SO frustrated and surprised by people's reactions. It seems like people feel bad for me that my second child is not a girl. Most common reaction "Oh, well at least you have all the clothes." Anyway, I am just annoyed and needed to vent.
Thanks!!

Thanks, ladies. Yes, don't get me wrong, I am absolutely thrilled and feel 100% blessed. I am obsessed with my first son and cannot wait to see what these two do and do not have in common. I was just taken aback by these reactions--definitely not expected!!
I appreciate the responses!
I am in the same boat, I have a 3yr old little boy and another one due in January. I only want to children so this is it for me too! At first, I had to get over the fact that there will be no pink in my house but now I'm thrilled to know my son will have a brother, I grew up having a sister and there is nothing better. I'm so blessed to have another healthy boy on the way and am thankful for whatever god gives me!

Well I'm having another girl and I'm very happy about it!
But yes I'm getting annoyed at people's stupid reactions like:
Oh sounds like you should get started on #3 soon so your husband can have his boy!
REALLY I'm still freaking PREGNANT first of all. SECOND of all my husband LOVES his daughter and will LOVE his next daughter and does not NEED to have a boy. This isn't ancient China.

My MIL had 5 boys. The last one was a surprise so she was convinced it would be a girl. At first she was incredibly disappointed. But she came to the realization that even though she would have LOVED to have a daughter, that she LOVED being a mom to five boys even more and the boys had a great childhood growing up together doing what boys do.
While I'm sure it will be semi-saddening for you to not have a daughter, your sons will be awesome buddies and have so much fun together.
Plus, you will then have 3 boys to love and take care of you. And as for all those people, they just have no idea what they are saying. People should really think before they speak.
Congrats -- I love boys!
I know what you mean regarding people's comments. Before finding out we are having a girl this time people would make comments that I "need" a little girl. I would explain that I would be just as happy with another boy (truly I would) -- but then they would say "oh, no -- you "need" a girl" (this was from my neighbor)
Anyway -- after announcing we are actually having a girl -- many people have said "just want you wanted" -- NO, i JUST WANT A HEALTHY BABY! People truly can not imagine that I would be happy (genuinly) with either gender.
Anyway - congrats again, and don't pay them any attention.
Oh I hear you on this!! I'm on baby boy #3 and I'm so sad by all the "Oooooh.... that's to bad" comments. Too bad? That my son is healthy? That my boys get another brother to play with? What's too bad about all that?
I'd love a little girl but I am perfectly happy/content/over the moon about another boy.
The clothes comment always bothered my when I was pg with DS2. Sure, I have boy clothes but DS1 was a February baby, DS2 was July. I certainly couldn't put DS2 in all the fleece newborn jammies and long sleeved onesies I had!
This little guy on the other hand is all set! He's due 2 weeks before DS1's birthday so now I DO have all the clothes (minus all the stained and ripped ones I've thrown out...).
Anyway, yes I totally get your vent

the important thing is that you are ready to love him!
I have three boys already and just found out that this one is a boy too! I am excited because I had some scares in the begininning. So I am happy the baby is okay and that's all that matters.
I too am sad that I may never have a girl. But I got some good advice from a friend of all boys. She said that if she see's a cute dress on sale she will buy it for a friend that has a little girl. So you get to buy cute things for a girl and even get to see them in it and bless a friend at the same time. It's a win win for everyone.
