Any other plastic-phobes? Sippy cup questions....

Hi! I don't usually post here but I lurk occasionally. I, personally, am creeped out by plastic. I was a BPA-phobe before it caught on and I still am not fully reassured that other plastics aren't leaching other chemicals so I tend to avoid plastic and canned goods, etc, as much as possible, especially while PG, BFing, and for LO. So I've managed to make it to this point with LO only getting her food from glass containers but it's getting close to sippy cup time. We have two KleanKanteen sippies but they are hard for her to use since they are big and she needs to tip them all the way up to get anything to drink. Also, I'm not sure if you are supposed to put anything other than water in them?

What do others use? Should I just give in to the plastic sippy? Store BM in a glass container until she's ready and then put it in the sippy (to minimize leaching time?)

Any advice appreciated!

  • I feel the same way you do and registered for these.  However, I can't give you a user review but most that I've read on line have been pretty positive.

  • I use the Thermos Foogos with success.

If you have the room you can freeze BM in glass bottles.

  • We use Klean Kanteen sippys. You can get the soft event spouts (from any old store) and use those instead of the hard ones that KK comes with. You can put other liquids in them. We do milk and water but if the kids are sick we do tea with honey. :) The boys just graduated to flat cap lids. :)

  •  I agree with the suggestion for Klean Kanteen sippys.  They are great!
