When I got KU with DD they saw me right away... within like 4 days. This time I just called to make an appointment and they said 6-8 weeks from LMP Sad . I should have lied. I don't know why I want to go so bad. I guess just to make it "official" or something.

Also I don't want to tell anyone until after I see the dr and thats a long time for me to keep this secret.

When did you go for your first appointment after you called with your +HPT?

I was 6w6d and all I did at the appointment was pee in a cup.

Got my info into the computer, was handed a packet of general info, given an EDD based on LMP and sent home.

I know that you are frustrated but if you wait until you are at least 6 weeks than you will have a better chance at seeing the baby Smile

I went in when I was 4.5 weeks and all we could see was the sac so now I am trying not to be a paranoid mess until the 19th when we go back.

Hmm..now you have me second guessing making my appt. I originally wanted to wait to call because like your office, they scheduled me immediately, and I would rather wait a couple weeks. I already have prenatals and it seemed like the first visit was a waste because I was 5 weeks and they made me come back in a week anyway. I am hoping to wait until 6-8 weeks to go. I'll probably call at the end of this week or early next week.

My first appt. was last friday so I was 4w2d but it was just a confirmation appt.

My next one is Sept. 27th and I'll be 6w5d, they wanted it for Sept 20, but I'll be out of town that week.

And that appt will just be a pee test and blood test, and doing the history of me and dh.

But I know how you feel. It's nice to have a doctor also tell you that your pregnant. It makes it more real.

My 1st appt isn't until 10-7!! I'll be 8wks. With DS, I 1st went at 6wks!! It's definitely driving me a little bonkers.

The waiting is killing me, but my first appointment and U/S is TOMORROW!!!! I can't wait!

I got my BFP on August 20. Called the OB on Monday the 22nd and my appointment is September 13th.

I feel your pain. It is standard policy here that everyone is seen at 10 weeks from LMP.

I don't know why you would lie, there's no point in going in early. You can't see anything with an u/s yet and there's nothing they can really do for you. My first appointment was just before 10 weeks.

I went in the same day I got my BFP just because for some reason I can't believe I'm pregnant until a doctor tells me...All they did was confirm and blood work. My first actual ob apt. isn't until 10ish weeks. However, I've already been seen for bleeding/cramping. I think most doctors typically see you around 8-10wks.

I know it seems like an eternity. My doc originally had me scheduled a 9wks but then changed it to 10.4wks because he was going to be out. I freaked out and was so mad, but when I saw a whole lot of baby at 10wks, it made it all worth it.

It does suck to wait, but think of it as you will see more of your baby, which is just amazing!

I was 9 weeks and 1 day at my first appt. I didn't even get an u/s that day either. I survived. I also hope that you aren't serious about telling a lie to receive medical care sooner.

If it makes your feel better, POAS every few days until you go.

Well that's not unusual. I got a BFP on 8/18 and won't go to the Dr. until 9/19.

Thanks ladies. I know anywhere up till 10 weeks is considered normal timing... I guess I was just surprised because it was later than I went with DD and its not like I switched doctors or anything. And I wasn't serious about lying to get in sooner... That was sarcasm. It just doesn't feel real yet...

My first appt. won't be until Oct. 3 and I'll be a little over 9 weeks by then. At first I was upset to not go in right away, but at least I know when I go in I'll probably get to see something, which is exciting (especially since this is our first baby).

My doctor mailed me all the paperwork so I could do it ahead of time and I have the ability to email her when I have questions, which has been really reassuring.

Mine won't see me until 8-10 wks. I don't go in until October 14th, so September 29th sounds great to me!

ETA: and it's my family Dr (I don't use an OB) so there is no ultrasound. Althought, with my first, she sent me for a dating u/s, and I do the IPS testing at 11-13 weeks so I will see baby then anyway,

I found out I was pregnant about a month ago, I believe I will be around 10 or 11 weeks before I go which will be September 20th! These last few weeks have came and gone so SLOW and I'm sure this next week will seem even slower! It's driving me nuts, but it will be worth it once you see your baby.

I go in 2 weeks on Sept 27th and will be 9w1d. I wish I could of gotten in a week sooner but it is what it is I guess. I really only feel impatient because not only is it my first, I also just want a confirmation that everything is A-OK. And what I have noticed is the time goes faster than you think and it'll be here before I know it.

This is normal! I had to wait until 9 weeks with baby #1. It is forever of a wait and it stinks!

Yeah, the waiting sucked!!! I called the doc at 4 weeks, 2 days, and I just had my first appointment at 7 weeks 2 days on Monday and first ultrasound yesterday. The actual appointment wasn't all that exciting; had to take some blood, pee in a cup, did an internal exam, took a swab, talked about family history, and got a packet of info. Yesterday was FAR more exciting! In fact, I'm still grinning! At 7 weeks & 3 days, got to have our first ultrasound (which was vaginal, by the way. Kind of surprised me!). Got to see the baby (cute little blurry blob that it is!), see the heartbeat flicker on the screen (amazing!), and then the ultrasound tech flipped a switch on the machine, and we could hear the heartbeat!!! That was unbelievable! I felt like 95% better immediately. Apparently, I just needed to see/hear the baby to stop worrying so much! Won't go back now until 12 weeks, unless something weird turns up in the bloodwork/pee test, etc. Ridiculously excited now! Hang in there until your appointments ladies!
