I had to sleep on my back for a while after that, which already hurt because of the epi. I had stiches and staples for about 10 days after my c/s so it hurt my stomach to lay on each side.
I couldn't do it- I slept on my back. The couple times I attempted to roll onto my side during the first week or two, it felt a bit like something was going to spill out (much of that might have been my over-active imagination, though)
I remember being able to with my first c/s within the first few days but it took about a week or so after my second one to side sleep. I also really had to support myself with a lot of pillows to do so.
I couldnt. I actually tried to do that while still in the hospital (there for four nights) and it was miserable. I didnt sleep for 5 days because of that. I am a stomach sleeper. I slept on a couch after I came home. I just made myself sleep on my back.
I slept on my back for close to 3 weeks because it was the most comfortable, I'm a stomach sleeper though so even when I could turn on my side I didn't sleep well until I started sleeping on my stomach about 6 weeks PP! Everybody is different though and you may be able to do it sooner than other's feel comfortable doing so. Your body will let you know!

I slept on my back for at least two weeks. DD was on my chest the whole time. I gradually relaxed enough to let her sleep next to me and around the same time my belly was comfortable enough for me to turn without too much difficulty.
In the hospital, I slept on my bed, slightly inclined. After I went home, I slept in a recliner for a little over a week. After that I used a stool (we have a high bed and I'm short) to get into bed and I was able to sleep on my side a little. Any time I tried before that felt like my incision was ripping open.
Once I made it upstairs to bed, I slept on my side. I wasn't comfortable sleeping in any other position. I did sometimes use a pillow under my belly, but not very often.
I slept on my back the first night and started to sleep on my side while in the hospital. It hurt beyond any pain I felt in my life, but once I was settled into a position I was comfortable in, I slept so much better. It helped that I had my DH bring in my body pillow to ease the pressure.
Any slight movement hurts after a section. We take for granted the muscles that help us move, lift and shift.

Hm, I'm in the minority. I slept on my side and/or stomach the first night after my c-section both times. It hurt to move if I had been in one position too long, but that was true no matter what position I was in (laying, standing, sitting).

I did the same. DH would help me get in and out of bed, as well as roll over. I slept on my side in the hospital as well, just with the bed still propped up some.
I'm a side sleeper and there was no way I could do it for at least 2 weeks. It was too painful to get intothat position. I also couldn't sleep flat on my back for a few weeks b/c it felt like my insideswould separate. I'd say sometime wk 3, sleep got much better(minus the crying baby part).

Same here. It was very uncomfortable for me for a few weeks. Even once my abs felt better, it was hard on my back, so I used a pillow behind me.

I'm a side sleeper too and it killed trying to sleep on my side for the first few weeks post-c/s. Everything felt like jello and laying on my side just put too much "movement" (I guess you could say) in the abdomen. Like everything fell down to the side instead of staying in place. Not fun. But you could use a pillow to support your belly like you would while you're pregnant. That helped support the innards some.

Like a PP< I seriously felt like my insides were going to fall out for a bit.
Whomever claims that side-nursing is easier for women who had a c-section has clearly never had one!

Sadly, this. I am a sidesleeper so it was really tough to get comfortable

Exactly! LOL. My MW suggested side-lying and I was like, um, no, this doesn't work.
