Baby's first Fever!

My 7 month DS has had a fever since Friday afternoon. When I took his temp it was 101.6, so I called the doctor and was told that a fever/diarrhea virus was going around. I was advised to monitor is temp and give him Tylenol to make him feel more comfortable and if the fever went higher to call back. I was also told not to be surprised if he got diarrhea. Well, his temperature has gone up and down for the past two days. He's been as low as 100.5 to 101.6 and his appetite has ebbed and flowed too. He's taken extra naps too. And today (after 48hrs) he experienced his first bout of diarrhea. I'm wondering ... is this a virus or is he about to teeth? His gums look the same to me, but I'm not sure. Any other cases of fever/diarrhea out there?

    Just my opinion but I agree that fever sounds a little high for teething. Also (might just be my kids) but typically when teething mine don't take extra naps - they are more inclined to drop/shorten one due to being annoyed with teething pain. But every kid is different - don't be afraid to call back the pedi if you're concerned!

    Turns out he ended up getting an ear infection AND he's teething! Thanks for the support ladies!
