TTC After a Loss

~~~~~~~~~~Our Sweet March Memories~~~~~~~~
Hi to all March ladies. I hope you are all having a good Monday. If you had a March EDD, no matter which year, you are welcome to join. I will be doing the check-ins on Mondays.
A very warm welcome to henderson1026, MandaJo9, and pangnl79, who introduced themselves to the group last Monday.
If you haven't already participated in a check-in, please post an intro and tell us a bit about yourself. For those who have already intro'd, feel free to give us an update. How are you feeling, where are you in your cycle, what are your coping mechanisms, etc.
QOTD:  What is your favorite dish you like to cook?
Below is the March EDD list. Please let me know if you would like to be added.
Re: ~~~~~~~~~~Our Sweet March Memories~~~~~~~~
  • I'm enjoying the nice weather now. Not too hot, not too cold.
    I'm currently 6DPO (even though I don't believe I O'ed earlier). Since I only take OPK's, I can't really say exactly when I O'ed, but I guess it is better than nothing.  I know temping is the only way to confirm O.
    QOTD:  My favorite dish to make:  Salmon with asparagus.  (I buy marinated Alaskan Salmon).  It's the easiest thing for me to cook and it's very filling as well.  All I do is bake for 30 minutes and voila! Dinner is ready.  Also one of the healthiest meals I make.
    Big hugs to all of those who are having a tough week.  Sending positive thoughts to all of you. Have a great week girls!
  • I'm doing okayish. Last week we found out our March baby had Trisomy 21 which caused the m/c. We have an appt with a genetic counselor on the 27th to make sure we aren't carriers (although neither of us have family history). I also stopped spotting (FINALLY) two days ago so now I feel a bit more normal. I did get a veeery faint positive on a HPT this afternoon so hopefully I'll hit zero soon.
    I actually hate to cook, so I can't pick my favorite meal to prepare. One of my easy go-tos is a honey mustard chicken. You mix up the honey mustard (honey, yellow mustard, paprika, basil, oregano) and spread it on the chicken, then bake (flip it halfway and put more honey mustard on it). It's very easy, which I like in a recipe.
    Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
  • Just thought that I would introduce myself. My name is Julie and my due date was March 9th, and I miscarried back in July. I actually got pregnant again after that miscarriage, and miscarried again last weekend. I honestly don't know if I am ready TTC again soon, I am sick of physically and emotionally feeling crappy. I head back to the doctor tomorrow to check my hcg levels (they want to follow them until they are below 5. They were actually as low as 41 last week, so I am hopeful they may have dropped that low already). Just thought I would pop and say hello. I am so sorry for each of your losses. ((hugs))
    Oh, and I am not much the cook..
    I have my post D&C check-up on friday.  I am excited to have that behind me and to start waiting for AF to show up.
  • You can add me to the list:
    GatorBaby2012, EDD 3/15/12, loss 8/21/11, no nickname.
    I may not check in every week but am here to support and be supported from time to time.
    Today's my first day on this board (intro in an earlier thread today). I think AF came late last night, so today is the happiest I've been in the 3 weeks since my loss. My biggest hurdle was passing Labor Day weekend, which would have been 12 weeks and was the time when we planned to announce our pregnancy. Since then I've been handling things better emotionally, but still find myself randomly breaking into tears randomly, usually when I'm alone driving in my car.
    One of my closest friends is the only person I feel like I can talk to as she experienced a m/c in Sept 2010. She reminded me today that her loss was almost a year ago, and pointed out that a lot can happen in a year...she now has a 2 month old healthy baby girl, one year after her m/c. That gave me a lot of hope today, and I wanted to share that story hoping it can give you some hope as well.
    T&P for you all.
    QOTD: I cook a pretty good lasagna.
  • Well I was hoping this week I'd get to post on May 2012 but alas my temps dropped Saturday and then further on Sunday and AF showed her ugly head.
    I'm now not sure if I want to TTC again or work on my body.  I've gained 10 lbs a year for the last few years and after the miscarriage ballooned up as I fed the depression.  It's only CD2, so I have some time to think about it, ahah!  It changes daily for me.  To try again, not to try again.
    My favorite dish to cook would have to be queso as my coworkers just love when I make it!
    About to be 2 under 2 up in here!
  • Hello all... I'm doing well today.  Last night was rough as during my cleaning spree, I came across the pregnancy test I took back in July.  It still had BFP.  It was quickly thrown out.  This afternoon, I headed to the Gap where I returned $200 in maternity clothes I purchased when I found out I was expecting.  I'm feeling down but am happy DH and I can resume normal nightly activities.  I'm looking forward to my post op appointment next week, then once AF arrives, it seems all will be back to normal.
    Favorite dish to cook - salads.  Cobb, southwest, steak with goat cheese, etc.  I feel like salads are celebrities - without anything, they're bland and boring.  Add all the toppings, and they get pretty exciting!
    I had my post D & C appointment last Friday. No more spotting finally which is awesome!  My HCG level is at 19 so I need to go back in 2 weeks to check again...it should be down to 0 by then. Then just 3 short cycles til we try again!
    On the down side 2 new people that I know announced pregnancies today. Ugh! I hate that I still hate it! Hugs to all of you!!!
  • I am new to this board as well.  We had twins due on March 29th.  I had my D&C last Wednesday.  We want to TTC as so as we receive an ok from the doctor but we are going to hold off until December for a few reasons.  I am excited to join this group.  I wish the best of luck to everyone!
  • Hi girls, my name is Amanda and my EDD was 3/17/12 and we lost our baby on 8/31/11 and D&C on 9/2/11. I would love if you could add me to the list. I've been having a really hard time this week. Everything is still so fresh and I can't stop thinking about our baby. I'm really glad that we have this check in. It's so great to have other women who have gone what you've gone through and have each other for support. I can't wait to start TTC again, but nervous at the same time!
    My favorite dish is spaghetti! I could eat pasta everyday!
    It's great to "meet" you girls! I can't wait to get to know you all and hope we are not here to long!!
  • I'm doing ok-ish as well.  I started a new job today (yay!) and was super busy all day (it's actually a nice change).
    But, I had a maaaaaaajor meltdown over the weekend (boo...)
    So, I guess it comes in waves, just like everyone says.  Though, it seems like I'm 5dpo, which means I'm just that much closer to being done with our TTA cycles since it really seems like the first cycle post-m/c is the wonkiest.
    Favorite dish... that's hard.  I really like cooking, though I haven't been doing much of it lately.  I guess for a side dish, my fave is roasted brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic.  Main dish: Roast chicken.
  • Well I am at 11dpo. Originally ff had me O'ing on CD11...but looking at my temps I was more convinced it was actually on CD12....I made some adjustments and now have dottend cross hairs on CD12. I tested this morning, but I got frustrated because before I even POAS there was a greyish line where the "test"line would be. It stayed even after I took the test and now I am going crazy trying to tilt the test and put it in different light to see if it is grey still or very light pink. I am trying to hold out on taking a digital until af should arrive....we will see.
    My favorite dish to make is Beef Stroganoff with homemade egg noodles, corn/corn on the cob and homemade dinner rolls!!! Yum!
    Yes, you can add me tot he list.
     The doctor said they can do b/w to see about any issues. I was hoping to do it now, but the nurse said we need to wait until my hcg levels are back to normal. I have an annual exam schedule in October, I figure I can discuss it then. I have been to the doctors enough in the past few months, I am kind of over that place anyways.
  • I intro'd a few weeks ago, but haven't been on since. It's kind of bittersweet to come on the bump, but this board is very encouraging and it's nice to talk to women who have been through the same thing I have. I m/c at 9 weeks at the end of July. It's been about 6 weeks since and each day is different.
    I was having a hard couple days because I had a baby shower Sunday and recenly found out that two of my close friends are pregnant and due March 2nd and March 4th - I was due March 3rd. It's been really hard on me to have those reminders.
    My favorite meal is chicken rice casserole - my mom made it growing up - it's a great comfort food and really easy to make!
  • Welcome to all of the new ladies and so sorry for your losses.
    I've been feeling much better over the past few days and had a great yearly appt. with my OB. She is the Dr. that performed my emergency ectopic surgery in July and I decided to switch over to her as my primary OB. My appt. just further solidified how awesome she is and I am so thankful to have her on my side. She made me feel a lot better about where I am at and gave me a lot of confidence to move forward with. I feel like I can breathe a little easier now. Other than that I am on CD 18, I definitely O'd this month and feel like my body is normalizing. Emotionally, just taking it one day at a time and have been starting to do some meditation and gentle yoga to relieve stress and anxiety.
    QOTD: It's a tie between homemade mac n cheese and spaghetti with meat sauce.
