It is my understanding that every hospital is different.
For example, my BFF's hospital does not schedule c-sections on Sundays, where mine does. Hers has people come in at 8am for c-sections, and then wait around (possibly all day, like was her case) until the staff are available, where mine schedules people throughout the day, at different intervals, so as not to have people waiting around without cause.
Personally, I would just ask your OB what their usual routine is.
My OB scheduled hers for weekdays (excepting Wednesdays as that was her scheduled day off), preferably earlier in the morning. My c/s was scheduled for a Friday morning, but I wound up delivering a week earlier via c/s on a Friday evening!
After 20 months TTC with PCOS, we were blessed with twins!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
Either early in the morning about 7:30am or after work about 5:30pm. I have had 2 in the morning and 1 after work - morning is better because then you don't have to fast all day while you are awake.

She may have had to wait all day because of bumping the planned c/s. I had an unplanned/urgent c/s and I know I bumped people. DD was born at 3:28pm, I was the 5th c/s that day and the other 4 had been emergency/urgent so all those people that arrived in the morning for their planned c/s were bumped until later in the day and into the next day (which then bumps other people).

My doctor has priveledges at 2 hospitals. She is at one 2 days a week, the other 2 days a week, and then her days she is on call. She schedules them for whatever time the operating room is available on the day you choose for the hospital you choose.

Every doc is diff. My doc normally schedules the csection at 39 weeks. He also said he normally does surgery on Thursday but if I had a certain date in mind, we could do it then. We are supposed to talk more about the scheduling tomorrow at my appt.

My OB does surgery on Wednesdays. I chose the first time slot so I could meet DD a little sooner. My hospital requires you to be at least 39w for a scheduled c/s.

No, actually, the hospital where she delivered doesn't schedule c-sections for a specific time.

It depends. My OB will do them anytime based on hospital availability. Mine is scheduled for 130p

I think this is how mine did it. I had mine scheduled at 40 weeks and she said 'Let's see what they have available.'
I got scheduled for 10 am on a Monday (my due date) and was wheeled in right at 10 am.
