Re: Fertility yoga???

  • Done it.

    It didn't help.

And it was the slowest damn yoga I've ever done! Bo-o-o-ring! I could only "open my pelvis" so darn much!

But there are plenty of DVD's out there if you want to try it. To each his own. I guess it can't hurt! (Except it was a total waste of $45 for me...)

    Started TTC 2/2009
    Started fertility treatments 11/2010

    Decided to adopt - 6/2012
SURPRISE! Pregnant without intervention - 7/2012
    Sweet Baby James Born 3/2013
Decided to be "One and Done"

    ....OR NOT.
Pregnant 12/2018 despite birth control pills
    Here we go again...
    Due 8/26/19!

  • I am going to offer the opposite viewpoint of PP's.  I started doing the Restoring Fertility yoga dvds along with acupuncture for this last cycle that resulted in my surprise bfp.  Not sure if it was that, or just dumb luck, but wanted to throw in my experience.

Ha, Elf - you were what I immediatly thought of when I saw this post.  I remember saying to you "well it can't hurt".  Honestly, that is still my opinion but glad you chimed in with your side.  OP - I personally have never been a fan of yoga, but because it's all a little too zen/hippie for my personallity.  Whatever works to help you destress though, I think is wonderful.

  • The yoga videos Elf talked about look very interesting. If I don't get my BFP this cycle, I might order them.

It's not going to hurt anything other than my extra money shoe fund :)

The series I did is definitely not especially "active" except for the ovulatory phase, but that's why I like it.  It's not meant to be a workout.  It's more about relaxation/de-stressing and preparing your body for pregnancy.  I am actually still doing the luteal phase routine now, b/c it's focused on making a good home for baby to snuggle in, so I figure it can't hurt.

  • I did it and didn't really enjoy it, so I passed it on to a friend who loves it.

If you've never done yoga, you might like it. The pace is slow and the positions are super easy.
