How normal is this? I know its silly, but I'm a little worried. I've only gained like 4 pounds too. Everyone says you get bigger quicker with #2, but I feel like I'm not... please tell me I'm not the only one.
With #2, I gained about 7 lbs less than I did with #1 (19lbs with #2, 26lbs with #1) and I was the same starting weight, with both of them. I was surprised by that as well, but DD turned out just fine. Although she is still a peanut
I am definitely smaller this time around with DS than I was with DD. I even got sent for an ultrasound to check DS's growth because I'm so small. I'm only measuring 29 weeks but I'm really 34 weeks. DS seems to be growing well. As for weight gain. I gained 17lbs with DD. With DS I am up exactly 1lb so far... Dr isn't concerned but I find it hard not to be.
SAHM to the sweetest little girl and boy... I love my job!
I'm smaller with #2 also. I'm also behind on weight gain. I'm not complaining though!! I am carrying the opposite sex, I don't know if that has anything to do with it or just the fact that I spend so much time chasing around DD!!

I got bloated fast, but gained 7 lbs less and was smaller everywhere else. I also BF while pg and that burns a lot of calories and I was SO sick the second time so it was hard to gain weight.

You do look a bit smaller, but I think that's probably due to you running after #1!
Also, in terms of the weight gain - I thought it was quite normal not to gain ANY weight in the first trimester? I gained 1 lb the first time and 2 this time.
This post has cheered me up!! Thank you ladies, I thought that baby #2 close to baby #1 meant being huge was a sure thing!! I am already showing at 8 weeks (but I am sure it is bloat) but I am starting off about 6lbs lighter than I did with DS - when I say showing, I mean I can tell - friends probably cannot! I am sure that chasing around after LO#1 must burn lots of calories.
I showed sooner with my 2nd, but definitely smaller! Cole was 7lbs 6oz, 21 inches, and I gained 18 pounds. Owen was 6lbs, 1oz, 18 inches, and I only gained 5!! Don't ask me how, since I ate at McDonald's at least, if not twice a day... but they were both perfectly healthy. Owen was born in the 4th percentile, but he's already up to the 42nd!
I only gained a total of 9 lbs. with my second pregnancy whereas I had gained close to 40 with my first. My doctor wasn't concerned in the slightest althoughg I was still holding onto some of my baby weight (about 10 lbs. worth when I got pregnant with DD2. Chasing a toddler around this time really made a difference for me.
With DS I gained 15lbs in the first month, this time around I actually lost 20lbs in a month, lol. So its possible to not be bigger the second time around. I think that the pictures look pretty similar.
Same as many others...I showed sooner with #2 but am way smaller at 37 weeks but my weight gain is actually identical, so I don't know how it is that I look so different. My doctor even told me I am probably carrying a relatively small baby but she is not worried.

I was much smaller with #2.
#1 was a 6 lb 15 oz baby. #2 was 7 lbs 4 oz. They just lay differently.

This was my experience as well.
