Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

My 14 month DD still has no teeth!

Anyone else still have a toothless baby?

  • Nope, mine has all of 4.5 teeth at 15 months. I think if they don't haver any teeth by 18 months it is something that needs to be checked into. Youtr luck she will probably cut them all at once.....

  • Has the pedi mentioned anything in the past?

Peyton had her 1st tooth at 4 months & by 7 months had 4 teeth.

Morgan has none, (I know she's a lot younger than your DD so i'm not worrying, or comparing..) but she doesn't even have a bump/ridge/anything!

    Was your DD born early?

DD1(4):VSD & PFO (Closed!), Prenatal stroke, Mild CP, Delayed pyloric opening/reflux, Brachycephaly & Plagiocephaly, Sacral lipoma, Tethered spinal cord, Compound heterozygous MTHFR, Neurogenic bladder, Urinary retention & dyssynergia, incomplete emptying, enlarged Bladder with Poor Muscle Tone, EDS-Type 3. Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

  • I had premie identical twins and now at 15 months they have 12 teeth, working on the other 4 as we speak. Maybe she will cut them all at the same time!
  • My almost 14 month old only has her bottom two, and she didn't get those until about 11 months. My pedi has no worries and says she's never had a baby that hasn't had any teeth. I actually feel like she is teething again so maybe some More soon. But I'm really in no rush for her to get more teeth- just more worries really. I have also heard the teeth are 'healthier' the laterthey come in. However, everyone tells me different reasons why from being straight, less cavities, etc. Who knows?
  • My DS just got his first tooth a little over a month ago at 15.5 months! He now has 5.  Try not to stress about it.  Our pedi said the range for cutting teeth is truly all over the place.  At 18 mos. they may send you to a pediatric dentist to have her checked out.  I tried not to be concerned, but it did bother me.  Everyone told me not to worry about it, but I was still sticking my fingers in his mouth EVERY DAY.  He finally got a bunch at once and now I just laugh that he got his teeth so late.  Generally, there would be other issues if she didn't have any teeth.  Her development would probably be off in other ways if there was a congenital deformity of some sort.   If she has been otherwise healthy she is probably just a late bloomer with teeth.
