  It's alright...

  For some reason it doesn't flow right for me. I don't know why. Both names are great BTW.

  I agree with this.

  Also I know a little boy named Sawyer and everyone calls him Soy. Not a very attractive nn.

  I like it a lot!  Sawyer is actually one of my top choices as well, and even thinking of a "D" middle name too.

  I think David is great but I consider Sawyer a last name (Tom Sawyer, Diane Sawyer etc).

  Sawyer is too trendy for me.  (And, to me, it's either a last name or one who saws.  It was just used in the New Yorker in the latter sense a week or two ago, FWIW.)
