HPT question

Hey everyone!

 

A little backstory: I got my BFP on saturday (only 9DPO) and the line has been stronger every test since then. Last night's test at 9pm was twice as strong as that morning's.

I tested today at 10am; not my first morning pee by a long shot, and the pee was lighter in colour but anyway, the test line is a lot fainter, about the colour of saturday night's. 

Could this be caused by diluted pee? I'd had a glass of water and a cup of decaf before the test... I just don't know. I'm paranoid because I had a chemical pregnancy in June after 7 months TTC and was heartbroken. Just don't want to go through it again. I'm going to the doctor today to have the first blood test and then I'll go again tomorrow or wednesday to see if the levels are doubling... but it'll probably be thursday before I get the results :/

 

 

Anyone had anything similar happen?

    It could be a chemical pregnancy but it seems more likely that your pee was a diluted and there was probably less dye in the test. The same brand of test even from the same box can have different amounts of dye in them. I know it's scary being pregnant after a loss but from now on I'd just rely on blood tests.

    Could be the amount of dye in the test, could be your pee...

    HPTs are not made to get darker with the amount of hormone in your pee, hence a line is a line.  

    Try to stay positive and calm :) And STOP peeing on things!!

    I have a bunch of IC's that I have been using daily, just to get rid of...and keep a piece of mind. They very from day to day how dark or light the line is. I think if it shows up positive then that's all that matters.

    Put down the hpt and back away slowely.  You will only freak yourself out if you continue testing.

    HPTs, even within the same make and model, have slight variations in the dye/chemical/urine ratio so they are not accurate indicators of your hormone levels.

    Yeah, these are the internet cheapies too. I think I'm going to do like you say and just stop testing, it drives me insane. I'll know soon enough, it's just hard.

    I can't imagine how hard it is. Even without having a CP or M/C it's hard not to worry, just try to pass the time thinking about the positive parts. You will get to see your LO soon. And your pregnant :)

    This! if you keep POAS you're going to drive yourself crazy. Lots of things could effect the darkness of the line. I know you're scared but just wait for the blood test. GL.

    Congratulations!  How dark or how faint the line is does not signify anything other than, you're pregnant!

    I got a negative test after having a positive the day before and a positive earlier that same morning. I'm still pregnant, my urine was just too diluted because I had gone to the bathroom about 2 hours earlier.

    They're just not to be trusted! My blood test from monday (11DPO) came back at 61, with Progesterone at 27. Having the follow-up blood done tomorrow. Feeling pretty queasy at the moment, a few more days like this and I may start throwing up lol. But it's a good comforting kind of sick.

    Cross your fingers for me tomorrow!

    Got my second HCG blood results (from 13DPO)- 156.9! Just had to post because I'm so relieved!
