When dd ws a year old, it took a few days before she really started liking to drink out of the sippy cup. It was frustrating for her and for us, but it really only took a few days and then she was doing fine.
Is your daughter using a sippy cup at other points of the day? I would stop at least one of the other bottles at first and then gradually stop both. You can talk to her about being a 'big girl' and drinking from her big girl cup. That might help a little.

Thanks! She does great with a sippy cup and even with a straw and drinks water in it throughout the day. The bottles seem to be her crutch at night. She wants a bottle before bed and asks for it before naptime and bedtime.

May be a little harsh, but have you just flat out told her no and let her CIO? Or at least offer it in a sippy cup? Don't give her an option for the bottle.

I'm in the same situation as you. My DD is about the same age as yours, and she's not off the bottle yet, she will drink water from a sippy cup but not milk! I think the problem is that the bottle nipple is a 'paci' to her and it soothes her. I'm hoping to completely take her off the bottle very soon. It's been very hard so far. Good luck.
I am in the same boat. My daughter just turned 17 months. She has one before daycare well more like 1/4 of one and then one before bed. She actually seems to be cutting back herself. She uses a cup or sippy for anything besides milk.
I know she should be off of it by now but right now I'm letting it go. It doesn't bother me and we seem to be going in the right direction.

Same here! I think it is just soothing to her to have the bottle before bed. It has become more of a crutch I think, which is probably my fault for not taking it away sooner! Her pediatrician said that she'd like to see her bottle-free at 18 months, so my mission this week is to drop her down to one bottle at nighttime only, and then eventually nothing at all. I guess I will have to take the tough love approach Good luck to you too!

My DS is 21 months and still has 2 bottles a day. He has one before his nap and before bed. No more than 4 oz each I'd say, usually less. Make you feel better?

DD is almost 2, and has 2 bottles a day. We switched her from actual bottles to a Nuk Active Cup; it has a silicone sippy spout, which she took to really well after taking away the bottle. She has regular sippy cups during the day, but for naptime and bedtime, she has milk. Whatever works for your family is my thinking.
DS drinks from a straw sippy but I will give him a bottle if he is VERY cranky, ill, or just needing some extra comfort. Sometimes that's twice a day. Sometimes it's once every two weeks. He doesn't rely on it, demand it, etc., but I have no issues giving an occasional bottle when extra comfort is needed.
When DD gets off the bottle in *checks watch* 5 months, I plan to get rid of most of our bottles but will still keep one or two on hand for when the kids need an extra bit of comfort.
It's just not an issue I'm concerned with, at all.

DD was on two bottles a day until about a week ago (18 months old). Personally, I do not see what the big deal is. People get so freaked out on this board about kids not having bottles... they're still babies, having a bottle at 18 months doesn't mean they'll still have it at 3 or 4 years!
Anyway, the biggest issue is tooth decay - you really can't let your older baby suck on a bottle of milk throughout the day and at bedtime you need to be brushing their teeth now (after milk). As long as those aren't issues, I think you're fine.
We just decided last week to finally get rid of the bottles because she wasn't even that into them and it just seemed like she wanted them out of habit at this point. She cried a bit the first couple of times she didn't get one, but moved on quickly. She seems to be over it now. GL!

Ditto the Nuk silicone sippy spout. If you go on Amazon and type in "Nuk Standard Neck" the sippy spouts come up. They fit on all regular standard bottles. DD goes to a nanny share and is the oldest, so she still wants a bottle when the other babies get their bottles. Now, she gets a regular glass bottle with the Nuk sippy spout on it. FYI, I think they are 2 for $2.99.
