When did you get 1st US?

Seems like I see on here that some people got their 1st US at their first appointment around 8 weeks, and some have not. I have my first appointment at 8 weeks and was really excited to get the US, but now I'm nervous they won't do it. Really hoping they do. Not having many "symptoms", and after 3 positive tests I'm still nervous this isn't real!

I got one at 8 weeks, but that's standard for pretty much every doctor around here. If you need an u/s to date how far along you are, they should do one as well. If you are just curious as to whether they normally do them, call and ask.

My first appointment was only an ultrasound to confirm viability. I was 11 1/2 weeks before I saw a doctor for the first time.

I had one at my first 2 appts. (5 [ges. sac only] and 7 weeks [saw the bean]) to confirm EDD.

Baby #2 - 8 weeks

I then had the NT scan at 12 weeks with both.

I had my first one at 5w6d. It was a dating u/s, which I think is pretty standard practice for OBs around here. I won't have another one until my 20 week appointment.

My first prenatal appointment was at 6 weeks- at that appointment we only did a pregnancy test (urine) and discussed diet/exercise/etc. I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks, 5 days. It was a "dating" ultrasound to give me an accurate due date.

I had my first dr's appt at 4 weeks exactly and I will be going back at 6w4D for my first ultrasound.

The first time around I got my first ultrasound at 17w4d. And then I had a growth scan at 32w4d.

This time around I'm going to ask for an NT scan. I didn't ask for one last time, but my risk is low. I will still feel more comfortable having one though.

I ended up with PIH which turned into pre-e last time, so this time we are being more cautious.

But my doc doesn't have a US machine in his office, so we go to the hospital to get them.

I went to my first appointment last week I was 6 weeks and 3 days. They did an u/s to get a due date. But I got to see to baby even though I say it looks like a snail

. I also got to hear and see the heartbeat. I was really cool. So glad they did one this is my first and I was so freaked out. It comforted me to know so far so good.

I'm getting an u/s tomorrow I'll be 9 weeks on Wednesday. I ONLY got an early u/s because I told the Dr. I wanted to ease my mind of the fact that I could potentially be having another set of sponteanous twins (rare), but I'd rather find out to ease my mind earlier on as my first u/s at 18 weeks is when were told there was more than one baby.

Around here our healthcare if very different- you would only get an early u/s if you're dates were off or they suspected a mulitples pregnancy (of if you were doing fertility or had complications) other than that rouinte u/s is from 19-20 weeks and is performed at the hospital, not at the Dr.'s office.

I'm very anxious for tomorrow!

It depends on your doctor. I won't have my first sonogram until 18 weeks. My first appointment was today, and she won't even test for the heartbeat until after 10 weeks, so I have to wait until my next appointment. Best wishes!

I haven't had one yet, I'm having a scan at 12 weeks though which includes an u/s. i had to specifically request this, otherwise I would not have been sent for U/s until 18 weeks or so.

Mine is tomorrow - I'm so excited! I will be 7w3d and they said they'll do the vaginal U/S.

Try not to worry about it, it's completely normal to not have symptoms. I barely had any with my first and I've had even less with this pregnancy. I needed an u/s for dating purposes but if I hadn't, the 20 week u/s would have been my first and only.

I had 3 positive test, and like NO symptoms, except sore breast and sleepy all the time. My first doctors appointment finally arrived, and my Dr did an US and I saw my baby and heard the heart beat. She told me I was 9w4d (:

And if it seems like they aren't going to do it, TELL them to do it!
