Got to hold a preemie! (update on the babies too)

Was up at Strong yesterday and my friend let me hold one of the babies! They are 5 weeks (33 weeks adjusted) and just about 4 lbs! Little peanut was so tiny in my arms. I had to hold back tears, so honored she asked. I didn't think anyone held NICU babies besides the parents!

Babies are doing awesome. May come home in 3 weeks or so! Both are off all equipment except monitors. Both are nursing like champs! They have dodged so many bullets from being born so early.....knock on wood they continue. They have to go 7 days without any episodes to come home, small bradys don't count. They have talked about moving them to RGH.....she sin't sure she wants that and they may be able to refuse. RGH would just be super out of the way for the routine they have in place with the older kids dad.

She (mom) seems to be holding up as well as possible, I don't know how she does it with 2 older kiddos at home. The BF seems to be doing well too.....for now. Praying he never lays another hand on her.

That is so fantastic! What little fighters they are! Thinking lots of good thoughts for them over the next few weeks, and hopefully BF will get some serious help, and if not, stay away from your friend and the little ones.
