We go camping a lot. Instead of buying water, which I find infuriating, we fill up gallon jugs (rinsed from the milk we buy). But it's occurring to me w/ all this plastics talk this isn't so smart.
So, if you needed to pack a bunch of water (like 3 gallons worth) what would you use?
Re: Question about plastic water jugs
Agreed. I used to camp a lot and found some orange juice jugs that were BPA free. If you go somewhere like REI they'll have big BPA free jugs but I think I remember those being expensive.

BPA free with a spigot. Holds 7 gallons.
OOh! I love this. It's totally going on my birthday/Christmas list. Thank you!
No problem
We have a few of these that we use.
I love REI, and camping...but just an FYI, your milk jugs are most likely made out of the same material as the REI jug. The website says its high density polyethylene. Most milk jugs are made out of that too - they will have a number "2" and "HDPE" on the bottom of the jug if they are. This is a different plastic than what "single serve" water bottles are made from.
