Raised side of scar - does it go down?

My scar looks good especially for almost 6 weeks PP.  The only thing that bothers me is the one raised end.  You can't see it but you can tell if you run your hand over it.  Does the raised end ever go back down?

  • yes, it may take awhile(like months) but it will.

  • I still have small raised sections that my doctor is planning on fixing this time.

  • I had a raised side and at my follow up appointment my dr checked it and said that is where they tied the knot at the end of the stitches and since they were dissolving stitches that part takes longer to dissolve because it's a knot. He offered to remove it, he just made a tiny incision and pulled the knot out with tweezers. I couldn't even feel a thing. Not sure if this is what yours is, but you might ask your doctor. He said it could've gone away on it's own, but sometimes it doesn't if the knot stays too long and scar tissue forms around it.
  • Not to be the negative voice in this, but if you didn't have stitches (I had staples) it could be that the raised end of your scar has developed as a keloid scar - which is what happened to mine. There's nothing wrong with a keloid but it won't ever go down or look exactly like the rest of the scar. I'm getting my scar tissue removed when I have my repeat c/s so that the likelihood of another keloid happening is minimal.
  • I was told that the raised side of my scar was because there is were it my stitches were tied off. Eventually it went down quite a bit but I can still see a little bit of area that is raised on the left. I am pretty sure that is just because of not being toned though because when I lie down it goes flat.
