Bruising on Follistim

On 4th IUI but 2nd on Follistim. I think last cycle I injected too close to my belly button and as a result got a nasty bruise.

This cycle I am on 225IUs and I am bruising every time i inject. I take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before and I ice 5 minutes before. I try plunging slowly, fast, keeping pinch while I inject, not keeping pinch.

Nothing works. Tonight I went slow and it burned going in too.

Anyone else?

  • I'm sorry you're having such a rough time.  My doc had us inject Follistim in the upper arm, for whatever reason, and I never had any brusing.  It did feel sore afterwards for the first week or so, but then I think I got used to it.  Hopefully it gets better for you.  Could you ask your doc or nurse about injecting in a different spot?
