brestpump help

The first pump started making knocking noises after about 4 months.  The customer service were great and sent me a new pump.  Now the replacement pump is starting to do the same thing.  My little guy was born at 33 weeks and has never been able to breastfeed on his own.  What do other exclusively pumpers use?  I can not go without a pump.

Re: brestpump help

  • What kind of pump are you using?  I am renting a medela symphony, a hospital grade pump.  I love it.  Its so quiet and is as comfortable as a breast pump can be when you use it several times a day.  I also have a medela pump in style from my first pregnancy that I use at work and when I travel (the symphony is quite bulky).  I would either get another replacement or look into getting another brand.  I've loved both my medelas and would recommend them highly

  • I have been using a Ameda Purely Yours.  It had great reviews, but I am not having much luck with it.

  • I did the hospital grade pump for the first three months, but it was not mobile enough for me (as I work in the community and needed to pump where electric outlets might not be available).  I did a second hand Medela Symphony for the first baby, and then I treated myself to the Medela Freestyle for baby #2.  Wow.  It was like a Cadillac.  So quiet and small, I wish I had found it sooner.  I could pump everywhere!

  • I rented a hospital grade for at home and used the ameda purly yours while at work. With a prescription my insurance covered the hospital grade as a durable medical equipment.
  • I had the same problem with my Medela PISA and hand to get a hand pump while I was waiting for the replacement. I EPd the whole year and loved that my pump was so easy to pick up and go. I made sure to get a car charger and additional charger for work. Toward the end I just threw my hand pump in my bag when I was out and about.

  • Thanks for everyones help.  I am contacting my insurance to see if they will cover a new pump.  And the Ameda customer service are sending another replacement pump.

What is a preemie card?  How do you get it?
