  Most doctors say 1 year of age is the time to make the switch.

  cool so not much longer of him eating me out of pocket.  formula is so expensive compared to full fat milk

  We did right around 12 months. Talk to your pedi, a lot of times you can start earlier than that.

  Guess I should call the pedi, we just had our 9 mo appt and she didn't say anything re: any kid of milk at all.

  Mine didn't either. When I asked her about it, she said no milk until 1 year, and that we'd discuss it at that appointment.

  My pedi brought up this issue before I even thought of the question at his 9 month appt.  My pedi said there is no exact date but told us around 11.5 months we could go ahead and start slowly introuducing small amounts of cow milk and then go straight in to it by 12 months of age.  I know every pedi says differently, so ask yours or go with what you believe is best for your child....good luck
