Is or has anyone used this formula? If so any good/bad stories??? Just trying to do research on it. Heard it tastes awful but I am getting desperate to get my LO some type of relief.
My LO has acid reflux and was put on Enfamil AR (and Zantac). The
Enfamil AR made her horribly constipated and she had blood in he stool when she do go which was rarely). So the doc said the blood could be due to the constipation or a milk allergy and changed her to Nutramigen. She then started having terrible diarrhea (typical of Nutramigen). She is also having projectile vomiting now so that plus the constant diarrhea...I am worried she wil become dehydrated and plan to call the doc tomorrow. I just think that the Zantac isn't taking care of her reflux and the Nutramigen isn't made to tend to that. She didn't mind the taste though.
We used Nutramigen for about 5 weeks. LO didn't like the taste at first but it only took a day or so for him to get used to it and be okay with it. We switched to Alimentum this past week only because LO seems to be having a reaction to the Nutramigen poop he's having, it's giving him butt burn. Other than that, his poops were totally normal, no vomiting. Alimentum poops seem to be much looser but not diarrhea and he overall seems better on it, pooping slightly less often than Nutramigen.
FYI if you do go on Nutramigen, most insurance companies will pay for a portion of it. Just get a scrip from your doctor. And if you've got one of those online pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS as your prescription coverage provider, you can potentially have the doc send the scrip in directly to them and have them ship it to you. I wouldn't do that part though until you know it works for your LO. Is it a milk/soy protein allergy? What are the symptoms?

Hmmm, you could try mixing it with another formula. When we transitioned to Nutramigen, I mixed it with BM and made the transition slow over the course of 2-3 days. That seemed to help. FWIW they WILL eventually eat.

We went from AR to nutramigen. Lo didn't mind the taste but it didn't help anything, in my opinion it made things worse. We finally switched brands from enfamil to similac and the problem is gone so we are figuring that it was something in the enfamil.

My nephew is on nutramigen but its because he has a milk protein allergy. He also has reflux but he is not on the nutramigen for it. He has not had any issues with it. He was constipated before he started it and since has had a normal bowel habits. He takes an oral med for his reflux also.

He has reflux but he is fussy after every meal...super gassy no matter what we give him. we have tried soy and sensitive and neither have worked.
