**what meds to have on hand?**

Ok so my brain is officially out to lunch- I can't remember what infant meds I had on hand for L...

gas drops, gripe water, infant tylenol (ibprofen- right not acetominephin), a thermometer, some petroleum jelly

anything else?

(i still have a BOAT load of gauze left over from L- so I have that...)

Infant tylenol is acetaminophen.  Motrin/Advil is ibuprofen.  I had both on hand for dd, but have only ever used the acetaminophen.

  • Oh haha ok!

btw- what did you use the gauze for?  I don't think I ever used any...unless it was something for the belly button maybe?  I can't think of anything else that I had on hand besides what you listed.

I did use the little medicine cups and medicine droppers that you get free at the pharmacy to give her milk the first few days home bc I had to pump a bit bc of the pain with nursing.

  • Jnk- gauze is for the circumcision :) and yeah, technically you aren't supposed to give ibuprofen/Motrin/advil earlier than 6mo. You can grab some Tylenol but you probably won't be giving that to a newborn either. Maybe some all natural butt paste..we used that once they were a few weeks old.
  • Ahhh thanks, no wonder I didn't use any!
  • Diaper creme...also Bacitracin Ointment - or something similar - when LO was an infant - he would scratch his face when he got his mittens off...
