  • We lost our 3 hour morning nap at around 4 months. Some naps are 30 mins, others are 2 hours and some are skipped altogether. He is 5.5 months and STTN from about 9-10 pm until 6- 7 am with no night feedings.

  • i'm exactly with you on the day and night routine...he is only sleeping 45 min at the most! unless we go swimming or something in the morning and he's exhausted!!

i've read that their sleep cycles are 45 min long so LO is just waking up instead of sleeping through another cycle. i think that's it - unless  they go down to less naps during the day and they're more tired

  • My dd's naps have been crappy too.  I just try to watch her and put her down when she first starts to get sleepy, usually about 1.5-2 hours after she last woke up.  As far as eating, DD has been giving me problems too.  Don't know if you're BFing or FFing.  We FF, and I found that switching bottles helped.  We were using the Playtex Ventaire, but I switched to the Nuk bottles.  The nipple is shaped like the Nuk binks, which she loves.  Also, I try to feed her right before she goes down for a nap, so she is pretty sleepy.  If I try to feed her when she's wide awake, she usually refuses because she's too distracted by what's going on around her.  I also always feed her in her room with the lights dim and her white noise machine on to relax her.  I don't force her- if she clearly doesn't want it, I just give up and try again later.  She's a giant baby (about 21 lbs. now) so I don't worry too much if she's not hungry.  It's frustrating though, especially because she won't eat for anyone but me and sometimes it's even a battle for me.

  • We still get one every now and again (if she naps in the swing), but for the most part it is gone.  We lost it around 4.5 months.  Sad

Almost exactly this. A is almost 5 months and she sleeps 9pm-8am with no night feedings, but she doesn't nap as much as she used to. I don't worry about it, because the fact that she's sleeping so much at night tells me she's getting enough rest during the day (even though it's not as convenient for me).
