  omg what a bad momma I am, I didn't even think about something like this. I'm interested to see what other people say since I would pretty much have no clue.

  I guess without too much thought, I would probably write a note and jot down a rough schedule. Maybe I'll get him a new toy to open while we're away

  After spending a good while at the hospital for PTL DH has his coworker who will watch DD if I am in labor in the middle of the night or weekend over to our house last night. He told her we would pack her a bag so the necessities were easy to find and leave her food in a cooler so it is pretty fool proof. I will also leave a note. I should probably get on this but I am supposed to be on bed rest so I am trying not to do too much at once.

  luckily DD is going to my moms and she has food/diapers/wipes/milk/sippies/bath time stuff/toys etc.
  she'll get handed off to my MIL but she will be at our house so obviously al that suff is already here

  i packed her clothes and a toiletry bag (toothbrush, paste, comb, Tylenol, thermometer)

  i wrote out her daily routine with appx times we do things .... also jotted down breakfast, Lunch, and dinner ideas for her to eat, snack ideas, fruits she likes etc
  

  i even went as far as jotting down places to go with her during the day - indoor play areas we like, museums etc so that she's not sitting in the house ALL DAY (we normally go out somewhere everyday, so I don't want DD to get bored)

  My mom watched DD in our home so I didn't have to pack anything.  I just jotted down a general schedule and made sure the house was stocked with foods that she liked.  We were only away 36 hours so it wasn't a huge deal and we were reachable by phone the whole time.

  My mom and dad watched Drew at our house.  I wrote out his schedule and some important phone numbers, stocked the house with food for him (and my parents), and moved his car seat into their car.

   

  We weren't gone long either and DH stayed at home one of the nights (but my parents stayed too b/c it made more sense than driving back and forth).

  This is our general plan. DD will stay with my mom at our house so I don't have to pack anything for her. I will have meals planned out for her in advance with labels for when she gets it. I will also write out her general schedule/routine. My mom already has a car seat in her car. I will be sure to leave the stroller for her. My mom knows where everything is so I'm not worried and like PP said, I'm just a phone call away. I only plan on staying 1 night instead of 2, so that should help. DH will be staying at the hospital with me the whole time so we get some bonding time and so it won't be so hard on DD (she's only 13 months old and at separation anxiety's peak)!!

  Pretty much just pack him as if he is spending the night for a few. The only difference is the person watching/keeping him might not have the fresh foods on standby being that babies come 2+/- weeks of due date. I packed him 2 sets of PJays, 3 outfits, diapers, wipes, and packages of organic oatmeals and breakfast foods, some fruit snacks and crackers and a few juice boxes to hold him over until my aunt or mom (whom ever) can make him food or buy lunch foods. If you have a strict schedule or ways of doing things for your son/daughter, I would let them know but also not be tooo pushy for them to stick to every little detail, unless it is imminently vital to their health. My son is a trooper and doesnt need much. Don't forget a few toys. Ill probably pack his leap frog laptop, a bag of legos and maybe some cars, for my bub.

  I have no idea what we will do since we will be moving before the baby is born, so I don't know where we will be living or who will be nearest to us in terms of family...

  But I just wanted to say that my friend had made all these arrangements for her daughter with back ups and back ups and lists of things etc. and in the end her labor was shockingly only 2.5 hours, start-to-finish!! So in the end, she just needed her husband's aunt to come over for an hour and a half! lol
