I want to hang DS's name on the wall (it's only been sitting for about 6 months) but DH refuses to do it because for some reasons all the holes are in different spots and he says he can't do it well enough to look good.
I was thinking about using the command tape to hang them so it doesn't matter where the holes are.
Do you think this would be strong enough or would they just fall down all the time?
Re: anyone used that command tape?
I think the command tape would totally work depending on how heavy your letters are. Just make sure to read the package - some of the tape is for heavy items (5lbs) and some for lighter (3lbs) and the posters, etc. It'll say it can hold up to so many lbs.
Here's the refill tape for the 5lb weight limit off amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Command-17023P-Mounting-Refill-Strips/dp/B000FCGS5Y/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1315707841&sr=1-2
HTH & GL!
Our third addition is on their way!
Nope... they do NOT work. I put 2-3 tabs on the back of each letter. It was fine until the first humid day and half of them came crashing down. The rest came down over the next 2 weeks.
Plus, it's not any easier to hang than putting holes in the wall. You only get one shot to stick the command strips in place. They do not restick if you try to move them.
We ended up putting tiny screw hooks in the back of the letters and used little nails to hang them. This tool can help you get things lined up, even if the holes are in different places. It's a pretty awesome tool..

Oh they're definitely strong enough. That is what I used to hang the letters in DS's room. They're not budging what.so.ever!
ETA: I used the picture hanging strips and the letters are still firmly in place. I got a combo pack from Target (they have the small ones and the larger ones)
