What do you use?

To wash your dishes? I'm trying to find more ways to be more eco, and this is one of my biggest to find and change over.

Re: What do you use?

  • I'm interested to hear responses to this.  We are using 7th Gen now and DH declared last night that we need to switch back to Dawn because, "Ya can't beat it." ;)

  • I use 7th gen as well. I really like it.

  • 7th Gen too.
  • I also love 7th Generation.  I think it works equally as well as Dawn.  We just finished a bottle of Ecover too, and it was also decent.

Are we talking washing by hand, or in the dishwasher? I use 7th Gen to wash by hand but I'm interested to hear what others use in the dishwasher...

    eCover tabs - LOVE them!

  • We use both 7th Gen for dish soap (hand washing) and tabs for the dishwasher.  Although, I did pick up a bag of Method tabs too and will try them out.

I will say that the Whole Foods brand dish powder for the dishwasher sucks.  I have half a box and I hate to toss it and waste it but I don't know what else to do with it.

  • Seventh Gen.

We have more success with the tabs vs. liquid or powder, but I like them all.

  • We use biokleen

    Yes

For handwashing I use Kirkland brand EF stuff. I'm going to try out their automatic dishwasher detergent also and see how it works.

Ditto this, although everytime I'm at costco, I don't see any automatic EF dishwasher detergent, so we stick with 7th Gen. I'd love to buy it, though, if they carry it!

  • For hand washing of dishes I like Mrs Meyers - Lemon Verbena (Proably not the most EF but man it smells great). For dishwasher detergent we tried Ecos gel sold at Costco. Major fail unfortunately.

  • Biokleen both their dish soap and dishwasher detergent.
