What stroller do you have?

We have the City Mini and she is just not a fan.  If she is in it for more than a few minutes she starts screaming her head off.  I am not sure if another stroller would be better or if she just hates being confined.  Any suggestions?

Re: What stroller do you have?

  • We have a Maclaren Volo and a the Schwinn Jogging stroller.  C seems to like both.  She's pretty funny in the schwinn as she'll both both legs up and lounge back.

Does your current stroller have a tray? Can you offer her some Cherrios or other finger food while you walk? Do you give her books or things to hold in her hands?

Also, some jogging types are pretty reclined, even in the upright position. I have seen kids who do not like to be laid back in a stroller, but like to sit upright and feel like they can see what is going on. The Volo is good for this since the seat is just a mesh sling for the most part and doesn't recline at all.

I am starting to think the incline is the problem. I ordered the belly bar so I can attatch toys to it and give her something to grab. The Volo has been suggested a few times now-if the belly bar doesn't help I will look into it. In the meantime my arms are getting a great workout carrying my 23 pound chunk everywhere! :). Thanks for the input.

If the incline is the issue (probably!), don't ditch the stroller. Once she is really good at sitting up, she will probably be able to sit on her own in the jogger and look forward. My kids both did that until they got bigger (and lazier?) where they didn't mind reclining. I just wouldn't do the chest strap and they would lean forward to sit up straight.

  • I have the BOB and the Teutonia T-linx system... and love both. Sounds crazy to have two strollers but we do a lot of "off-roading" with the BOB :)

My son loooooooves being in a stroller but after a certain amount of time he definitely has had enough. I've found that occasionally taking him out to look around or just carry him for five minutes and then put him back in works well. Also, the tray is really helpful becuase you can place little toys or snacks on it to keep her occupied. Another helpful tip is to have a lovey (my DS loves the freddy lamaze firefly) and you can attatch that so they have something colorful and fun to look at and grab for. I would try different postions as well... sometimes sitting up helps and other times reclining helps.

Good Luck and I hope you find a stroller/position that works for you!
