Cloth Diapering

Are PF's supposed to be good for heavy wetters?

LO is almost 8 weeks and he's a serious heavy wetter.  NB prefolds worked great but not he's leaking like crazy with the infant ones.  We use the fleece liners and change every 2 hours.  The crazy thing is that he doesn't leak from our AIO's and he used to pee right through those...so am I crazy for thinking that PF's are supposed to be good for heavy wetters?

  • I've never thought of PFs as a good heavy wetter diaper

  • def. not good for heavy wetters.  We moved to different diapers for night after about 4 weeks.

  • I would start looking at natural fibers- hemp, bamboo, and wool. Our nighttime solution does include a prefold though, but only because we're super tight on funds and I've not been able to invest in fitteds. Our nighttime diper is: a prefold with a velour cotton insert on the inside. Then a hemp insert laid in a wool wrap. The combination of the 4 pieces is quite a bit, and if I had the $$, could probably be cut down to a fitted, hemp doubler, and a wool wrap.

  • Using a PF to stuff a pocket for a heavy wetter? Sure. Maybe that's where you got the idea.
