scar/incision pain

So its been 5 weeks.. and I am starting to get pain again. I still have a lot of numbness all around my scar but I am getting internal pain again. I have always had more pain to the right. I just thought that it could be where the internal stitches were finished or maybe because I use those muscles more to get out of bed (i always get out of bed to the left.. even in the hospital) Anyways.. is anyone else experiencing this? Could this be the nerves healing and that is why I am having new pain?

  • I'm 13 months pp and I still have numbness where my scar is.  I think it is b/c nerves are cut when you have a section.  They say it can take a while for things to go away 100%.  My mom had my brother 23 years ago by c-section and she said she still feels numbness from time to time.  Crazy huh?  I think what your feeling is normal, but if you are having lots of pain I would call your OB.

  • I started having pain again right about 4-5 weeks.  If it's unbearable though, I'd call your OB.  Also, it's pretty normal for one side to be more painful than the other.  My right side is the side that still hurts and is still a little more swollen and my DS is 10 weeks old.

  • More than 2 years and I am still numb. I;ve been told it doesn't come back (the feeling that is). For quite a while I would get pain when I had bad gas.
