Is this labor

So totally strange question coming from someone with two kids but I had c/s both times so I have never gone into labor. I woke up at 3am with a moderate case of PMS cramping. I feel it in both my lower back and the right side of front (I guess uterus). Is this what the start of labor is like? If so I'm not avfan.

    im told labor is like menstraul cramps but have a mountain effect.. it slowly builds and then reaches a peak of intensity followed by a decrease.. all in 45-60 seconds.  i have been having menstraul cramping for weeks but its not contractions when its consistent pain

    Same thing for me last night...I started having timeable contractions about 8pm then by 10pm it was full on period cramps constant till about 3 am, i was getting worried so I called the doctor, she said to take a hot shower, take tylenol, see if it subsides where I can time them in between and if it was still unbearable after an hour or two to come to the ER- it did subside and today it was like nothing happened....
