Mental Illness & Pregnancy

Hi Everyone,

I am 6 months pregnant and have a 5 year old. I am new to the site and am hopefully looking to find some other moms or pregnant ladies who have depression, anxiety or other affective disorders for support and friendship.

    Thank you for your reply. I am sorry, but I am not sure what you mean by national boards, and I did an extensive search before I sent this!

    If you look on the left of your window, you'll see a header for "all boards" and there is a 1st trimester, 2nd trimester, 3rd trimester, Adoption and then about 20+ other options; those are the "national" boards, this is a local Baltimore centric pregnancy and baby board.  You are certainly welcome to post, etc. but you may also get answers about mental health issues and pregnancy from other expectant mothers.

    If you look to the left and down a bit you'll see a post partum depression board. There are a lot of women with pre-partum depression as well that post on that board. They can be a great resource.

    I stopped my meds while pregnant but there are safe meds and your doctor should be able to help you as well.
