I use cloth diapers and just barely have enough to do a load every other day and I've pretty much been doing a load every day since the baby was born. Would it be more eco-friendly to keep doing a load every day and try to line dry that load or would it be better to do a load every other day knowing that I'll have to dry it in the dryer because I won't have time for the diapers to dry before I need some? Let's assume buying more diapers isn't an option at this point.
Re: Which is more eco-friendly?
Hopefully as your kiddo gets a little older the frequency of soiled diapers would decrease and you could go a little longer in between diaper changes thus needing less diapers per day. In my experience it's definitely better to have a few extra diapers for each day instead of having to struggle with running out of clean diapers (or *gasp!* reaching for a sposie).
I know you said that buying more isn't an option but what type of diapers are you currently using? Would it be helpful to get a just a few inexpensive prefolds to use with wipe-able diaper covers instead of pricier AIOs to help get you through another day?
I agree with this. I was going to say the same as the first paragraph. I was thinking you should get like 2 or 3 flats.
if you aren't buying more, I guess the answer would be based on wether you have a city sewer system, live in a drought area, have a HE machine, etc. I guess I would need more info.
