Still buying Maternity clothing?

My maternity jeans are starting to get tight...aahh!  I've already bought more maternity clothing for this pregnancy than I planned.

I just found out that my sister and mom are trying to organize a "Baby Sprinkle" type brunch for me in two weeks and it's making me want to get something new & flattering.

Are you all still buying maternity clothing or are you trying to hold out & just stretch what you have until the end??

Re: Still buying Maternity clothing?

  • I'll probably buy one more thing for my shower....I don't have anything appropriate for that kind of event. Other than that, I'm going to try to "make it work" :)

  • I was going to try and stretch what I have until the end, but in reality I only have two pairs of pants that fit.  Unfortunately I am going to have to purchase at least one more pair of pants.  I have a bunch of cardigans that should get me through until I deliver.  I really don't want to spend a bunch more on maternity clothes when it seems like I am so close. Oh, and maybe a pair of tights or two so that I can continue to wear some of my dresses too.

  • I'm hoping not to need anything else but our weather here in SoCal this time of year is so unpredictable that it is possible I would need to get a few things for colder weather.

  • I caved in yesterday and bought some leggings and some other basics to get me through the fall.  My stuff was waay too tight, and not warm enough for fall.  I have also been borrowing t-shirts, and such from my husband! You should get something cute for your shower, we only do this once!

  • I'll probably have to. All of the clothes that I bought were for summer and I'll be at my biggest during fall.

  • I have grown out of my shirts... so have had to buy some new shirts since the belly was getting out of hand. However, I'm going to try to avoid buying any more bottoms if at all possible.

  • I'm going to have to with being due at the end of November and living in MI I'll need some warm clothes to get me through the cold months.  Pretty much all I had purchased were things for summer, but we had our first fall snap this last week and I found myself very thankful for the two shirts that had long sleves and that were a bit warmer.  Hopefully then I'll be done!

  • I really need to. I always look at maternity clothes when I go out shopping, but I put off buying things. I need at least one pair of jeans and one pair of leggings to get me through the fall. Maybe a long-sleeved dress or two, as well. Oh, and my shoe selection is completely dire.

I live in the South, but it got oddly chilly here this week -- already! I think sundress weather is just about over. Probably time for a shopping trip.

  • I just bought a tank top but it will be my last purchase. I stop working on the 30th of this month and i'll be lounging around the house in my frumpy clothes :)
  • I think (and really hope) that I'm done.  I bought a new pair of jeans last night at Target on clearance (btw: Target can bite me with their pants sizing..maternity included) and am hoping to just make everything else I have work with cardigans and whatnot. At this point I'm so over spending $$ on maternity clothes I will wear for all of 2 months.

This exactly.  Got my (hopefully) final few shirts for this pregnancy in the mail today.

  • I'm trying to only buy things that I feel will be wearable and not super "maternity" after I give birth. I know I won't automatically be fitting back into my pre-pg clothes. For example, I bought these jeans the other day because I feel like they will still work:

I also bought some nursing tank tops today. Stuff like that. I did buy a dress for my next shower too.

  • I have plenty of pants and I should be okay on shirts, but I might buy a dress or two for my shower and an upcoming wedding.  Hopefully, that'll be it!

  • Really trying to hold out....but I did buy a nice maxi dress for the shower.  Like PP said if I do buy anything I am trying to make it wearable for right after, cuz I know I will have some work to do to get back in my regular clothes!
  • I hate the idea of buying any more maternity clothes, but because I have to wear professional dress to work, I'm forced into purchasing all types of clothing to accommodate my growing belly. I also hate being uncomfortable, so I am sure I'll be buying a few more pieces for fall.

I have found a few really nice tops on Ebay and a local consignment store, so I plan on checking those sources first.  I'd like to get a couple loose and open cardigans and some leggings, items I could potentially wear after baby arrives.

  • I still need to get some basics for the fall.

  • I just bought a few new pairs of pants because until this point I have been wearing my pre-prego pants and I will probably buy something cute for the shower and some more appropriate warm shirts for the fall as well.

  • I went out and bought 5 shirts today, all 3/4 and full length. I didn't have anything more than short sleeves, and I will definitely need something, considering it gets cold here in October, and I'll probably continue to wear them for a little while after LO is born.

I also bought baby shower dress today.

I'm planning on buying 1 pair of long yoga pants and that will probably be the extent of it. ETA: Other than a few nursing bras and tanks.

Same here, I live in MI as well, and will need to get at least one more pair of pants... I was HOPING to wear my summer clothes until the end of Sept. but that didn't happen! Love MI weather!!

  • I just had to buy a couple new shirts and a pair of pants because school just started and I needed work-appropriate maternity clothes.  Over the summer, sweatpants and oversized t-shirts were my friends :)
  • I bought two cardigan type sweaters at the Motherhood clearance sale. I figure those should work over my summer tops at least until early Nov when I am due. All of the sudden we are having a heat wave here and it looks like Sept is going to be our warmest month so I havent had to wear fall clothes yet. I'm trying to make things work with dresses/leggings that can transition to fall. I keep almost buying fall clothes and then thinking I only have 8 weeks until my c-section so what is the point!? I may splurge on some cute boots to wear with skinnys/leggings and then I can wear them afterward too.
