I promise to try and stop talking about my mucous plug soon but I just need to get this out. I posted previously that I was loosing pieces of it starting Monday and was checked Tuesday and all was still well with my cervix but I was told to call back if a variety of other things happened, including bleeding. Well last night I lost what I believe to be the rest of it complete with blood
I don't think I've ever been so scared in my whole life. The bleeding wasn't much and it stopped quickly so the on call Dr told me I didn't need to go to L&D unless it started up again or I was having more contractions. And of course my husband has been out of town all week but thankfully my mother came over and stayed with me so I could get some sleep and not just freak out all night.
My next NST/ cervical check is Thursday. I'm wondering at what point bed rest will be brought up? Is that strictly for Pre-E symptoms and cervical changes? I guess I just want to be prepared mentally for whatever may be coming.

I'm so sorry MrsVo, I know how scary it is. I lost my plug at 26 weeks, the on call doc told me the same thing yours did so I waited until my next u/s which was 3 days later. They did discover that my cervix had shortened a bit & I was contracting more frequently than I thought. I was put on modified bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy and made it to 34 weeks.
I would prepare yourself for bed rest & I would try and get an appointment sooner than next Thursday, or at least take it VERY easy until then.
Good luck! I hope your LO's stay cooking for many more weeks!

I totally understand freaking out BUT, if it makes you feel better, at my childbirth class this week the teacher kept talking about how losing your mucous plug does not mean labor is imminent. Your mucous plug can regrow.
I think the most important thing is that your cervix was good this week - if it was even questionable they wouldn't have let you leave or would have talked bedrest. My OB also told me that if your cervix is "long and closed" the chances of you going into labor in the next 2 weeks is very slim - about the same as a negative fFn (which is a possible test they could do to make you feel better).
