DS just won't take one, I never liked the idea of a paci to begin with but I did try since he was just days old, for those moments when he would freak out, or when he freaks out in the car. He "eats" his hands but it seems more of out play then to soothe himself. I tried different brands and nothing, he spits it out and makes the funniest faces lol. Is your LOs not using a paci at all? Did you not want to LO to use one or LO just won't take it?
Re: For NON-paci users
DD has only taken a pacifier maybe 3 or 4 times ever. We have tried giving them to her (after she was about a month old), but she never took to them. She has found her hands, and more recently, her feet, and they seem to soothe her just fine
I side eye my sister in law for using the paci as a plug (her words) so the baby has it in her mouth constantly. I've never been a fan of that. But generally speaking I am not anti paci. I didn't want to use one right away -- much like I didn't want to introduce a bottle right away. DD just didn't like it. She takes it briefly every once in a while but she seems perfectly fine without it, so I'm ok with that.
Sometimes at night when if she falls asleep nursing, I unlatch her and put the pacifier in her mouth and she continues to sleep that way. It pops out in a couple minutes but she's fast asleep by then

Will had a pacifier when he was in the hospital, but when we took him home we weaned him off of it because he'd freak out every time it fell out of his mouth. I've tried a few times to get him to take it so my boob could have a break, but he mostly just chews on it and gives me this "are you joking?" look.
Kind of like this:

This exactly.

i didnt want him to use one but one night i was desperate so i gave it to him. it worked for all of 5 minutes. he never uses it now, he just isnt into it.
