I'm assuming my boys (2 and 4) will want to be superheroes of some kind because that is what they are into right now. We have a lot of random capes and helmets in the house already, so it should be an easy year to come up with costumes. I will probably make a matching wonder woman or bat girl costume for out 6 month old daughter.
Last year I made Buzz and Woody costumes for the boys. The year before that my oldest was a robot made out of a cardboard box and some silver paint.
We have an eeyore and a spiderman or power ranger until he decides again ;o)
last year I had a Dino, year before that a turtle and first year a different Dino.
my mom always made us costumes. Of course, we have a ton of girl costumes and not many boy ones so I can't dive into that stash. But ones she made are daisy duck, Minnie, raggedy Anne, witch, and more. You can also go through closets and make things from that.
Well, my LO is still inside me, so I've been considering wearing an orange t-shirt and attaching a black felt jack o lantern face to my tummy (not sure yet if I want to stitch it or iron on or what).
I'm a huge halloweenie, so MH and I have already planned LO's first costume (next halloween). Regardless of whether we have a son or daughter, we want to dress our LO as Mike Ditka. Basically it entails finding a Bears sweater and/or jacket, getting some babiators, and drawing a mustache with some nontoxic makeup. MH and I plan to dress as football referees to match.

Addy is going to be either Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz or a lady bug. I have both costumes. I think one is a 2T and one is a 3T, so whichever one fits. Then the baby will be whatever from there. Either a bumble bee if Addy is a ladybug or maybe the lion or something if Addy is Dorothy. Addy's is not DIY, but the baby's may be.
I still have no idea! I just found out that my cousin is planning on making a float for a local Halloween parade and invited us to be on it. She doesn't have a theme, yet, though, and I was hoping that would inspire me!
He will be the 11th (the current) Doctor Who. I commissioned my aunt to make most of the costume (suit jacket, bow tie, fez, suspenders) and I'm making a stuffed sonic screwdriver.
I'm loving all the costume ideas so far. Last year DD was a ballerina. Onesie, tights and a tutu, all of which she already had. Just bought a pair of bloch ballet slippers to go with it and it was a very easy costume.
Mom to: Miles (6 year old Maine C00n mix), Boots (5 year old Lab mix), Darla (4 year old GSD/Collie mix), Frankie (1.5 year old DSH mix), Peanut (15 months old - 09/11), and Bean (arriving Feb 2013).
Okay, the very hungry caterpillar is the cutest thing i have ever seen.
Last year the kids were Tinkerbell and Peter Pan. The costumes were DIY (pics in blog).
This year DD is going to be a doctor (cute tiny thrift store scrubs + toy doctor kit) and DS is going to be a cowboy (Wranglers, pearl snap shirt, bandana, and cowboy boots and hat, all thrifted).
I love DIY Halloween costumes. And I can't sew AT ALL, so mine are just thrown together out of regular clothes.
Not really a DIY, but I'm ordering "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" knit hats from a WAHM for my 2 YO son and the baby (expected towards the end of Oct) to wear! I'm also going to get them red outifts to wear with them!

Eva has asked to be a mummy this year (apparently her penguin from last year wasn't scary enough!). I'll be making it. I hope to be able to make her costumes as long as she'll let me!

If I can be a good mommy and finish it - DS will be The Very Hungry Caterpillar - kinda like in this picture:
It's being sold for $90.00 but I'm too cheap so I'm attempting to make my own.
Miles (6 year old Maine C00n mix), Boots (5 year old Lab mix), Darla (4 year old GSD/Collie mix), Frankie (1.5 year old DSH mix), Peanut (15 months old - 09/11), and Bean (arriving Feb 2013).
You NEED to finish this! I will yell at you every night if I have to!
