I took the class and I really liked it. I also had some PPD and REALLY needed something to get me out of the house. This was great for me because I knew it was one day that I would be going out with the baby. We usually went out for lunch after class too! I made some great friends and a group of us continued with future classes. Some of us are still friends and keep in touch!
Very nice to hear. Which location did you take it at? I like the friends component but did you find the topics were too basic or did you feel like you learned a thing or two?
I had the same experience - I took the Great Beginnings & Next Steps classes at the Needham location, and I am in touch with a few moms still. I had something to look forward to every week (getting out & socializing) and not being by myself all day with the baby. DD enjoyed the classes too.

I enjoyed it. The moms and kiddos all got together monthly for at least 6 months afterwards and I still keep in touch with some of them. It's not really about learning...more the chance to get out of the house in an environment where it's comfortable to breastfeed, change diapers, and share frustration.
I've been taking classes at Isis since December. I started with Great Beginnings and we're now in Movers & Groovers. I love the classes. Yes, they are expensive, but I really feel like you and your baby get a lot out of it. I personally really liked Carol C. (she's my favorite) and Marena (She doesn't teach often). Not a huge fan of Nicole, but she teaches a lot of the classes in Needham, so you might get her. She's ok, but I feel like she teaches so many classes that she rushes. I only BF briefly and never felt out of place when I stopped. There were many people who didn't BF.
