Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Not really baby related: Jeans for curvier ladies?

Where did you find your post partum jeans?  I'm still rockin the mat jeans.  Which honestly I love because well...they're stretchy!  But since DD just turned 5 months....I think it's time to retire them.  I don't fit in my pre-preg jeans (funny how I weigh LESS than when I got pg, and now they don't fit :-/ ) and I just don't know what to do.  My pre-preg jeans were a size 18...so I don't really know where to get bigger jeans.  Where do you buy them?  I'm not necessarily a large person, but just very curvy.  But, I do carry most of my weight in my stomach...so I have a hard time fitting in most jeans...normally get one pair and wear them out until they have holes in them.

Help!

  • i'm the same - my regular jeans don't fit (well they do up but BARELY!) and i'm sick of wearing mat jeans. the weather is changing and i'm dreading it already!!! time to buy some new ones...

all the weight and extra skin is in my belly so i need to find some jeans that will hold in all the extra stuff - cause when i do them up it goes up over the top! haha

oh the joys of pregnancy - i just want to be pg again so i can wear mat clothes again! :)

  • I just bought post-partum jeans from the Gap. They have a style that's actually called Curvy which is very forgiving, both for shape and because they stretch. I was a 12 pre-preg, am a 10 now, but my body type sounds similar to yours and I know Gap online goes up to size 20. The problem is I don't think they stock them in stores, so you'd have to return them by mail if they don't fit right. Which really sucks IMHO.

  • Old Navy, flirt fit.

I went into Gap a few weeks ago and their denim quality has declined dramatically. The denim is really, really thin. Which sucks because I used to love their curvy jeans. I was going to buy some jeans on their website but even the online reviews say how schitty the quality has gotten.

I absolutely refuse to pay Gap prices for that schit denim. Old Navy's denim is much thicker and they cost a third of what Gap charges. Banana Republic would be a natural jump from Gap if you want better stuff within the same company, not Old Navy.

  • I just went to NY& CO and found two new styles there.  Ones a flare *which i fit back in my pre-pregnancy size...WAHOO*** and the other was as boot cut.  I know they are have a sale right now on jeans too!

Old Navy does something similar to what the PP said about the Gap.  And they carry them in stores so you can try them on.  I got 2 pairs, but I didn't get the stretch kind.  They get a little lose towards the end of the day and need to be washed and dried before the next wear which can be a PITA.  But at least they aren't maternity pants!  Ok basically, I'm just recommending that if you go to Old Navy, get the stretch ones.  Kind of went off on a tangent there :).

I agree with this entire thing, lol!

  • I wear the Eddie Bauer curvy fit. Although I carry more in my hips/thighs than around my waist.
