LO not himself the past 3 days...

I don't know what is going on with DS and I have no clue how to help him.  He has not been acting himself since we went to a water park on Sunday. 

He will act hungry after he's been fed on both sides and then cry and writhe like he is in pain while nursing.  He has been spitting up 2-3 times a day and he NEVER spits up.  He hasn't napped longer than 20 mins today or yesterday. He's been pooping regularly and his rectal temp was 99.6 earlier.

He acts almost like he has a stomach bug but he isn't throwing up or having diarrhea.  He cries and cries if I put him down or leave the room.  He has cried most of the day, even while being held.

The first day I chalked it up to a bad day, the second day I thought growth spurt, and now I have no idea.  I'm at a loss, I have never seen him act this way.

FWIW, My roommate took her 9 m/o son to the doctor and they think he has a cold.  They went with us to the water park, so maybe it was something in the water.

 Am I missing something totally obvious?

    The crying while nursing  and spitting up makes me think Acid Reflux, but you know your baby best. Good Luck. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to the call the pedi if tomorrow isn't better.

    I was thinking acid reflux also but maybe also lactose intolerance or milk allergy. A friend of mine thought for the longest time her son was just a colicy baby and because he was breastfed he couldn't be lactose intolerant. Well it turned out he did have a milk allergy and he had all the symptoms you are describing. Like I said doesn't mean he has a milk allergy but just something to think about.

    Sounds a little like when the pedi told me Owen had a stomach bug. He would be ok one moment and then crying the next because of cramping. It took a week for him to get over the bug.

    I read somewhere the sometimes a baby the cries during feeding could have an ear infection. I guess the sucking irritates it. Good luck.

    Thanks ladies!

    Just after I posted he pooped 3 times in 2 hours which is not his norm, so that freaked me out.  I decided to give him a half dose of infant tylenol since he had a little bit of a temp and that seemed to help.

    I was going to call the pedi today but he was feeling a little better.  Not as much crying and no squirming during nursing and no spit up.  He had an elevated temp again this afternoon so I gave him another half dose of tylenol.

    My guess is that he has a little cold since everyone in the house is now sick.  Just what I need since DH has to go back to work on Saturday. Sad
