Meanwhile in TX . . .T&Ps for wildfires (PIP)

We are so desperate for rain and prayers in Central TX! Please include TX in your weather related T&Ps!!
If you're out of the loop - here's a few of the pics of this massive fire - at this point they said the amt of land burned from these fires is the equivalent to the state of CT. NASA reported at their launch that they could see the smoke from space it was so large =(. Last info that came out today said that over 1400 homes have been burned from 1 fire (only 30% contained), annd several hundred more around the Austin/Houston area in separate fires.

I've had several coworkers who have lost their homes now due to theses fires, and at least 2 who have lost their pets/livestock as well. Evacs in this area happened so quickly, that if you were not in the house at the time of the evac, you couldn't go back and get your pets - that breaks my heart thinking of all those pets left behind Sad . Our friends spray painted their cell phone numbers to their horses and freed them in an attempt to save them b/c they didnt have a big y senough trailer for all of them. Thankfully, they showed up several miles away 2 days later and were rescued by the county!!!

BTW - I stayed home sick today and was sad that all of the natl news stories didnt even mention the TX issues - all were about the flooding in the NE =(.

We live right outside of Austin and have been scared by all of these fires. They just keep coming. Several family friends lost their homes. We need rain so desperately!

Thank god they were ok! Ive been watching the news on this.. I have a lot of friends in texas and have been stalking the photos.. lots of T&P going that way!

Im in west Texas and we've had our share of fires this year too, the whole state needs rain so badly. We're praying for our neighbors in the central/east texas! God bless you guys!!

Katieluke - so true! My sis lives in west TX and I went to TTU. The wind out there is crazy, and doesnt take much to set that part of the state on fire right now.

And yes, I've been seeing so many posts about the fires on Facebook, it's been a very hard summer here in Texas! I'm praying everything gets better soon. I feel like our whole city has been praying for rain since March with hardly any luck. It's very sad that so many are losing their homes to this.

We need lots or rain stat! I am in North East Texas and it just doesnt seem to end. We've had a combined total of over 30,000 acres burn so far. Its super smokey every day outside, its scary and sad. Lots of prayers!
