recommend your cheap glider

For a number of reasons we need a cheap glider--I thought we could get by with what we used for DS1 but it has become clear we need 2.  I don't want to spend a lot of money so I'd appreciate recs for a cheap one that is still decent.  I'm trying to avoid Craigslist mostly because I don't have time to drive around and look at them and because I have severe pet allergies (couldn't have a glider from a home with a pet).

Thanks a bunch!

  • We got this one from Wal-Mart more than a year ago and it's still great. The seat cushion is not that thick but I don't sit on it for prolonged periods of time. I put it together in about 20 minutes while 8 months pregnant. We haven't had any problems with it and I've recommended it to other friends!

Ditto all of this. I'm on #2 with this glider and it's held up super well. I agree that the pad on the bottom is not as thick as it could be but as long as you aren't planning to sit on it for more than an hour at a time, it's fine.

We have the same one too!  It does the trick.

  • What is considered cheap? The only 'baby' furniture we bought was the crib because I did not want to only use the furniture for a short period of time. We got a rocker/glider type chair from Belfort and with the sale they were having it was around $400 dollars but we can use it outside of the nursery. And, it is super comfy. Here is a similar one.

Ours is pretty much this one, but the back cushion is a little different, I think. We got it from Amazon with Prime because LO was colicky and I needed it asap.

The seat cushion is flat, I agree, but I actually put another layer of foam under it and it's fine. It does the job and the price was right.
