Baby Names

Help with Indian baby names? Search engines suck!

My many variations of searches for Indian & American baby names yield mostly... hmm... you guessed it!  American-Indian baby names!  Some suggested searching for Indian English names which helped a little.  The Indian baby name sites are not really helpful as they tend to be inconveniently arranged and I'm trying to find specifically crossover names.

I know there are a lot of names that are both Indian and American (or similar), but I know mostly girl ones.  For boys, all I came up with: Kieran (Kiran), Shawn (Shan), Neil, Nathan, Dave (Dev), Devon (Deven), Aron (Arun).

That's about my whole list right now.  I'm partial to the first 2 as DH is Irish, but he wasn't so thrilled.

Any suggestions on how to find some more?

I should say that you pronounce the J softly, it's not a "y" sound.

  • My husband is Indian, but he hates every name on this planet. I'm Polish and I like: Sivani, Malvika, Kartik, Divya, Vishal, Asha, Anoushka, Tanvi, Ajay, Karnik (our boy's name). I agree, Indian names are very tough, good luck.
  • My friend's son is Kushaal.  I love it!  His mn is Nathan.
