Mommy, Daddy, Madre, Padre, Mother, Father... and the list goes on of what you/DH can be called...
Do you have a preference of what the baby is going to call you?
I really care either way but I know some do... When the hub was younger my MIL would only allow the kids to call her mom... she didnt want to be called anything else especially mama (who knows why?) but thats what she wanted so thats what they called her. I personally call my mom, mama...
So anywho, I was just curious what everyone else thought and if you had a preference and why?
Re: Mom, Dad, Mama, Papa...
I have always called all of my Grandpa's Papa. I can't imagine calling them anything else or calling my Dad that. To me that would be very strange. I know a lot of people here (Oklahoma) that call their Grandpa's Papa.

Mama & Daddy.
On a side note, my mom will be Nana per her request, and I like Oma and Opa for DH's parents, but they haven't said if they'd like to be called anything particular.
Mommy and Daddy
Grandpa will be Papa, Grandmas are Nana and Grammy
I have never heard of dad's being called Papa till being on here. It was always grandfathers. My dad is Papa to my kids. I can't imagine DH being called Papa by our kids.
Ella born 12/21/11
Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.DD is 5 years old and calls us Mommy & Daddy, calls my mom Grandma, calls my grandparents GG and Papaw (Papaw died 3 years ago), calls DH's parents Grandma Renee and Grandpa Duke (mom & step-dad), calls DH's other parents Papa Lee and Mama Shonda (dad & step-mom who is in her late 30's and is too hot to be a "grandma" ha), and calls DH's grandmother Nani.
I haven't really given this much thought. I think we'll let DS call us whatever he wants, but good old fashioned mom & dad sound fine to me.
I call my mom "mother" even though, as a kid growing up she was just "mom". My grandparents were always "mother & dad" to our parents so it just kind of stuck.
