last time around when I was expecting, I replaced all of my products: face and body wash, eye cream from Belli and used only bare minerals cosmetics. by the time my son came out I was broken out and looked greasy with a face full of makeup (bare minerals doesn't do it for me). This time around I really don't want to give up my products. what are y'all doing?
Re: Cosmetics
same here with the mineral cosmetics. I'm using aveeno face wash and moisturizer. makeup from all over bobbi brown, revlon, everywhere. I'm using clarins night cream...
At my old OB (I've moved since then, haven't had first appt with this pregnancy yet) I had to see the nurse practitioner for my first few appts. I brought in everything I was using on my face and body. I guess she was afraid of me coming back and suing or something but she wouldn't tell me that ANYTHING I was using was safe. She just pleaded the fifth. scared the hell outta me, so I went out and replaced my products. probably overkill but what would she expect a nervous new momma to be do?
I'm using aveeno face wash, Philosophy moisturizers (face and eye) and bare minerals and origins make up. My exfoliator is some sort of all natural green apple-oatmeal skin peel for sensitive skin. I stopped used anything with retin-a three months before we started trying, but also stopped using my face serum. I kept reading how your face gets more sensitive with pregnancy, and I figured I might as well.
I think you're probably fine with your normal products, aside from some acne products (can't remember which). If you want an all-natural makeup that's not a mineral makeup, then maybe try Origins. I find that bare minerals just doesn't last on my face in the winter, even with primer.
