I just had my OB appt and he went over the ultrasound with me. All the measurements that they got were normal. But they didn't see the heart clearly. My OB left it up to us whether we want to go back and have a detailed ultrasound of the heart. He said that about 15-25% of people don't get a clear shot and the shots of the heart are used to rule out 55% of heart defects. Which actually I would have thought it ruled out more than that.
Would you go back? It is $50. DH and I are split on it.
Re: WWYD
Is $50 your copay for u/s? I can't remember if I had to pay for my follow up with Ava (same reason.) We are going back for this baby on Wednesday because they couldn't get a clear shot of one of the kidneys and left if up to us if we wanted to go back. Since the baby didn't show the goods, obviously we said yes. lol
I would probably go back just because I"m a worry wort but if you aren't too concerned then you could just pass on it. It's always awesome to see the LO anyway! GL with whatever you decide!

I would go. We had to go back because they couldn't get a clear shot of Belle's spine. We didn't have the option of not coming back. They told us we had to, but I think that is more for the fact that DH has a cousin with CF.
It is more the number of 45% of heart defects are not seen anyway. Kinda like how not all people get the down syndrome screening done at 12 weeks bc it is not a for-sure answer.
But I ended up calling and we do have an appt bc for the same reasoning that we did the d.s. screening, if there is a chance knowing something ahead of time which would allow us to have a specialist dr avail at the delivery, we have to do it.
