Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

moms of 2U2 I don't know how you do it!!!

I babysat my friend's 3 month old today for 5 hrs along with DD of course.  and man, I'm exhausted.  I barely got a chance to eat, let alone feed DD and make sure she was entertained.  I guess when you have your 2nd you just fall into a new schedule, but this LO would only sleep in my arms so it didn't leave time for anything else.  It's finally DD's nap time and my house is a mess!  But all I want to do is sit on the couch and eat lunch!

  • It's actually been way easier than I thought - but it definitely takes some juggling.    I loosen up a lot with the #2, and I think that's part of what's made it so easy :)

  • I think it's been easy for me because both my kids are so easy. Neither one of my kids were high maintenance and needed my attention/to be held 24/7.

All of this! Juggle, practice, adjust, practice....until it works.

  • My motto is "just go with the flow."

I also ate a lot of milk chocolate chips and drank a lot of coffee for my year of 2U2.

    This!

You also don't just given a 3 month old, you start with a brand new baby, which is easier to work in than an older baby IMO.

Also, I was able to get my kids to sleep on their own in their cribs from day 1 with DS, so that wasn't a concern for me.

You get used to it :) But it does take 5x longer to do everything (get dressed, get out, eat meals)

  • I thought the first 8 months were relatively easy.  DS#2 was such an easy laid back baby.  Everything changed when he became mobile.  Now that I have a 1.5 year old and a nearly 3 y/o I am exhausted! The best thing about the age gap now is that they both nap for 3 hours in the afternoon.  I am trying to really relish this time because I know that DS #1 could give up his nap at any time.
  • It is exhausting!! My 2 are almost 16 months apart and we're expecting another for 3u3! I'm basically always tired and have been pregnant forever!
