Hello all - I've been lurking the last few days and have finally decided to jump right in. We may be starting medicated cycles soon and I figured now is as good as time as any. Here's my story:
Started ttc 8/10
1st cycle 29 days (O on cd19), bfn
2nd cycle (O on cd18), bfp early Nov
MM/C end of Dec (12w)
D&C 2 days later
This entire year I've had 3 periods. My cycles are as follows:
1st cycle post loss - 77 days
2nd cycle post loss - 63 days
3rd - 72 days
now on 4th - cd43 and yet to O
DX with postpartum thyroiditis in March/April, thyroid back to normal levels in May (and all through summer). I've also recently started a gluten free diet b/c my doc thinks I may be gluten intolerant (not sure that has anything to do w/ anything, but who knows?)
Went to OB few months ago, she thought it was my thyroid causing irregular cycles. It's been normal since May, so it seems like that's not the cause. I've had bloodwork done a few times this year to check for abnormal hormone levels and it's all came back normal (I have no idea what all was tested and it was done late into my cycle, so not any specific cd or anything).
My doc mentioned that she'd want to start Metformin in Sept if things hadn't balanced out. I'm going in for my annual on Thursday and plan to discuss the way forward. I'm pretty nervous about it, and not sure what all to even ask. I don't know if I should stick with my OB or ask for an RE referral.
Anyways, I look forward to getting to know you all. Thanks for reading. If you made it this far, you deserve a treat:
Re: Hi ladies - may I join you?
Welcome to the board. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Your story sounds exactly like mine! Semi regular cycles before and then after your m/c everything goes to hell
I hope your Dr. can give you some answers and a solution to get you on your way to your take home baby. GL to you!
Thank you! How are you liking Clomid? Are you seeing an RE for it or a regular OB? GL to you too!
PGAL/PAL welcome

Thanks - I'm seriously considering an RE. I feel like I haven't had very thorough testing so far. It just seems like a big scary step...

I'm actually having a really good experience with the Clomid. First cycle I actually ovulated which was nice considering I hadn't on my own in almost a year. Also, the side effects haven't been as awful as I thought they would be. I'm seeing a regular OB, but if we don't have success with just the clomid, they will refer me to an RE.
