Trying to Get Pregnant

Don't know how I will handle peoples comments when I get pregnant again

I was looking at prenatals today, to see if there are any otc ones with added iron. DD was with me, and the store manager came over and asked how old she was, I said almost 6 months. Then she said something like "God bless you" or something to that effect, assuming I was pregnant.  I know that is pretty tame, but it really irked me.  I already have gotten, don't you all own a tv, because my sil and I were pregnant at the same time (because we have orgies together?  I don't get it)

  • I say become snarky to rude comments.. and wtf about you and your sil? Who says that? That is weird. You just reminded me I need to take my vitamins

  • Just ignore them. People are always going to say ridiculous things to pregnant women. I don't think her comment was meant in a negative way though. That one wouldn't have bothered me. I had a friend whose ultrasound tech lectured her for getting pregnant again after 7 months postpartum (pregnancy was planned I might add). Now THAT is offensive.

  • People love to give their opinions. My neice and nephew are 10 & 12 days older than my kid. We got lots of questions & comments. It was annoying but whatever. try to blow it off. They don't matter and there will always be someone who has something to say.

  • She was prob saying God Bless to you about your 6 mnth old daughter not that she assumed you were pregnant. That's what I would think.

  • Who cares what they think.. My SIL and I would love to have kids close to each other so they can grow up together. I never had that and would love for my kids to be close to their cousins.

This reminded me of the U/S tech in the movie Juno who got all judgmental at Ellen Paiges character, and Allison Janney ripped her a new one.. priceless. Of course I love Allison Janney

  • I think it will be especially hard to keep calm with the hormones changing! I can be passive aggressive without pregnancy, so look out world if someone comes at me crazy! :)

  • DH's grandma once asked me how I was doing by saying "how's fatty this morning?". People are idiots.

  • what is wrong with people??

maybe you can help me with this one since you're a mom already: how do you deal with it when people touch your belly once you're showing?? i feel like i'm going to smack their hands away!

don't let other people bring you down, this is about your family- not strangers :)

  • Oh, grasshopper. You have so much to learn. One day, you will master the art of making people more uncomfortable than they make you.

For future reference, the correct response to "Don't you all own a TV?" is "Yeah, but we rarely use it. It's just easier to stream porn on the computer. I have a homemade clip on my phone, would you like to see?"

I never knew what to say. I am not a germaphobe, but I have a similar phobia, I don't deal well with people touching me, so I would be freaking.

I once had a man bark at my stomach with a toy dog, that was very, very strange.

And btw, the comments you get once you have the baby are sooo much worse than when prego.  Everytime I take DD to the grocery store, I get yelled at by old ladies, who say I will make her sick.  Or the co-worker who told me that I deserved to get cut open while I wasn't numb, since I didn't have to go through labor...

That is horrifying! Why would anyone ever say something like that and think it was okay? Wow...
