so desperate times call for desperate measures...with all the rain, I'm at my wits end to think of ways to entertain Warner inside. This afternoon we made a train out of the dining room chairs. (I remember doing this when I was little...glad it came back to me!) He LOVED it...all his stuffed animals took turns riding on the (stationary) train along with a race car and a puzzle at one point.
Then when DH came home, he got a ride, too. (see exhibit A) Warner told daddy to sit in the caboose and mommy had to drive the train. [Cue DH making jokes about (DH) riding mommy's caboose (seriously, who allowed us to procreate...twice?).] Then DH starts singing "come on ride the train, and ride it!" (Quad City DJs anyone?). And since Warner repeats everything we say, he starts singing it, too. And even after dinner Warner was sitting on the "train" singing "and ride it, and ride it". I can't stop giggling about it. He was trying to sound like DH who was trying to sound like the song...so bad, but so funny.

Re: ha ha ha...have to share
Me too! Very cute.
DH and I are always giving each other a raised eyebrow in front of the kids over unintentional double entendres and "That's what (s)he said" comes out of my mouth way more than it should. At least I try to say it so only DH can hear. DD picks up on everything and we really need to be more careful.
So is your DH doing an innocent "choo choo" gesture in the picture, or was he really into it and doing the official Ride the Train dance? I just looked up the video for the song...and I was amazed/saddened by how many of the lyrics I remembered.
