TTC after 35

TTC first child after 35

Hi,

Im new here and have been TTC for officially for about 3 months. I am on CD1 and am wondering of there are any other women out there in the same boat? The last 3 months have been a little frustrating as we are soo ready to have a child but I know that we have to give it some time and be patient. Im wanting to connect with other women who are going through something similar?

 Thanks!

Re: TTC first child after 35

  • Welcome!  Hope your stay here is a short one.  Yup, we are all over 35 and TTC.  Some trying for #1 others going for #2, #3, etc.

I understand your frustration - - we all want that BFP......NOW!  Please be mindful, though, that there is a wide-range of people here - - -some have just started trying, while others have been trying for years.

It would be helpful if you posted your age and what you are doing in your attempt to conceive.....temping?  using OPKs?  CBEFM?  This way people may be able to offer some helpful input.

Very best of luck to you!

  • drbethc- hi!!  I am in the same boat as you.  I am 37 and DH almost 38.  We have just started ttc.  I am a bit overwhelmed with the whole temp and ovulation charting right now.  I haven't started it yet.  I am just trying to relax and be positive.  If am not pregnant by next mo will start all that.  I have all the stuff, just abit overwhelmed.  I have to say, have been on this site for a short time and have already learned alot.  The ladies on this board are fantastic; very supportive and full of knowledge.  Would love to chat with you more.  I hope your stay is brief.  Best of luck to you.  Smile

  • Welcome!

I am pretty new to this board but not ttc.  I am 36 and Dh is 45.  We tried for 14 cycles before getting our first bfp.  I totally understand your frustration - when we first started ttc a honeymoon baby seemed like a very real possibility.  After awhile the months just start to blend together!

Do you chart?  Use opk?  These are huge helps.  Good luck and I hope your time here is short!

  • Hello, welcome!  TTC #1 for 6 years going on our 7th, though only the last 2 years of that have I been 35+.  The only advice I would offer after reading through your post is, while it might be overwhelming, do not hesitate to jump into all the charting and using OPKs.  You will learn so much more about your body and your own cycles and have the ability to become a better advocate for yourself and your own fertility health if you do.  I don't mean to scare you, chances are you will be able to get pregnant quickly, but if you don't you might end up wishing you had a cycle or 2 back to be more aggressive on your own.  I wish I had been more aggressive earlier on.  Take Care and Good Luck!

  • I am 37 and TTC #1.  I hoped that we would get pregnant soon after we threw away the bc this time but a year later, still nothing.  I understand how frustrating it can be.  Welcome to the board.  These ladies have a lot to offer.
